We had the good fortune of connecting with Chanae Sanders and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chanae, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
In the city that I grew up in, there are so many obstacles in front of young people. I faced some of them and was fortunate to overcome them. I seen many fail to overcome them that were my age and also some that were younger than me. I knew that if I had others that cared and reached out that I would have avoided some of my failures. That made me want to be what I didn’t have for others who need the same. My husband has the same passion so we decided to something about it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am the co-founder of a youth mentoring organization called Saving The next Generation. My heart and passion is anchored in youth. I believe in those critical years are where their adulthood is shaped. Many broken adults are that way because of traumas in their youth and not having adequate and sufficient support to deal with them properly. I was fortunate to overcome my challenges because of God’s grace and my strong will. I had a few good people to help as well. I didn’t make all the right decisions and in the place of the consequences is where I learned to appreciate and apply better choices. Because of those experiences and lessons, I have been blessed to make a great impact on young ladies to make the changes before they experience the consequences. My brand is simple and it is the motto for the organization, NO ONE IS BEYOND SAVING! It’s important the world adopts and adapts to this. Regardless of how far off the youth may seem, if they are given time, attention, and love, I believe a turn around is more than possible but inevitable.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
in this situation, I would definitely be spending the time in St. Louis, Mo. It’s only about 15 minutes away from where I live and the city has so much to offer. The itinerary would be centered around pampering ourselves. We would schedule massages, mani/pedi appointments, facials, hair appointments as well. Of course we would shop at the premium outlets and malls. I love a good sale! I personally love Longhorn Steakhouse but since she is in town, we would definitely have to enjoy different food types. I would try Maggiano’s, find a good steakhouse, and it’s a must we get some of the best soul food ever made by my grandmother. Movies, paint with a twist, and church would be on the agenda as well. This would provide entertainment but also pinpoints my heart to have care shown while creating the opportunity for great conversation and memory making.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband is the person I want to shout out. We were married very young and while we didn’t understand all that would be ahead of us, we were committed to facing it together. Through all the adversity and obstacles he has been right there with me. He has encouraged and supported me all the way. He loved me through my lows and lifted me to my high’s. He works so hard to support our family and we never had to nor do we have to worry about anything. Any of my business ventures have been fully supported and pushed by him. So again, shout out to my amazing husband!
