We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Shelton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Our business helps our community and the world at large, by inspiring class participants, private clients, and video viewers to take care of their physical and emotional health through simple breath practices and moving exercises that produce profound results.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from other practitioners in this field, is that I’ve developed a system of success based results that I can reproduce and teach others. I am most proud of the thousands of lives I seen transform and heal from chronic pain, illness, and mental health issues. I’m excited that even after 20 years of being in practice, I still have not reached my full potential. And I’m super excited to have the opportunity to inspire and help more people around the world. It was not easy to get where I am today professionally. Every big change has been scary. I overcame the challenges through not giving up, trusting in God, perseverance and believing in myself. One of the biggest tools that I utilize is talking to myself in the mirror and co-creating how I want my reality to take shape. Some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way are not to take no for answer. Understand that adversaries or obstacles are sprouts for growth. Having a vision and seeing the end goal leads to success. Though hardship and struggle, suffering awakens us to be better and better. If I can change. You can too! As Jim Rohn said, “The same wind blows on us all… it’s the direction of the sail that determines where you end up.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start off with a Tae Bo workout with my friend Billy Blanks at our other good friend Eric The Trainer’s gym in Burbank. Followed by a massage from January or get a cooking lesson from Andrea Rush, the White House Chef. Then we would go to the oxygen baths at Kaqun in downtown LA. We may eat Japanese food at Kabosu Toluca Lake, or JINYA Ramen Bar in Studio City, Persian food at Raffi’s Place in Glendale. Lastly, you’ll probably catch us pool side relaxing and enjoying life in Burnank.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, my wife Parisa, has helped support and spread the mission of empowering people. Even through times, when adversary has tried to block this mission, she has been my rock to supersede, rise above, and move forward. I want to thank my acupuncture teacher, Ester Su, who took me under her wing and taught me the ancient art of Tong style acupuncture and opened my eyes to the deeper wisdom of Chinese philosophy. A special thanks to Tony Wong, my Taiji Sifu and mentor, who guided me and encouraged my development through public demonstrations and competitions. I also want to thank Vicki King, who was the store manager when I was a butcher/meat manager, and was my advocate who allowed me control over my schedule, so I could keep my benefits and build my clinical practice at the same time. If it wasn’t for Vicki who knows if I my business would exist today. Lastly, I want to thank God for providing the perseverance within me and the opportunities around me to grow and touch so many lives.
