We had the good fortune of connecting with Christian Resendiz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christian, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Some people dread losing everything and starting over from scratch. Once you hit the bottom, there’s nowhere to go but up. Every business owner knows the risk that’s being taken when starting their own – no steady paychecks, no benefits, no days off, and no one to blame other than themselves for everything that happens within the business whether it be positive or negative. My mindset was pretty simple – treat every obstacle in my way as a learning lesson, as long as I don’t make the same mistake twice, I’m growing, and eventually, I’ll get where I want to be with patience and a strong work ethic.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At the beginning of this year, I officially launched my own video production company under the name Blue Maverick Media, give it a couple of years for that to ring a bell. There are too many lessons that I’ve learned along my journey for me to mention, but one that stands out is patience will take you farther than you could ever imagine. Too many people want a quick flip, and that might work for some time until their luck runs out. Hard work will always beat talent.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The reason we are all here today is because of that one special person, our mothers. March of 2016 was a month I’ll never forget for the rest of my life. It was a month full of trips to the ICU, sleepless nights, and visits from relatives I hadn’t seen in decades, which would all end with the passing of my beautiful mom – Monica Lilia Resendiz. What would you do if you were told that your mom has 30 days left to live?

Looking back now I use that as fuel to continue and pursue my dreams. My mom taught me many things without me realizing it at the time, she taught me how to love, how to care for another, how to be strong, and she taught me that life is too damn short to live someone else’s. S/O to my mom.
