Meet Cindy Negrete | Los Negrete Fam (Mom)

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cindy Negrete and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cindy, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Music holds deep roots in our family tree, with my husband’s lineage boasting generations of talented musicians. My father’s love for singing instilled a similar passion within me, paving the way for a shared interest that brought my husband and me closer. As we started our own family, it felt natural to pass on this rich musical heritage, teaching our children about its beauty and significance. Creating and bonding through music has become a cherished aspect of our lives, encouraging a profound appreciation for the art that connects us.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Our journey started when our daughter Heloisa was just five years old, and we decided to introduce her to the world of drumming. Despite the challenge of teaching her at a younger age than we had learned ourselves, her immediate passion for the instrument was evident. As we documented her progress through videos and photos, we shared one particular clip of her playing the drums on TikTok, and to our surprise, it went viral overnight, attracting a large following. The support and appreciation from our community have been overwhelming, and we feel incredibly blessed to have their encouragement as we continue to create music together. This experience has motivated us to pursue more opportunities and has shown us the power of sharing our love for music with the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of our favorite spots in the area include El Mercadito de Los Angeles, known for its delicious food and vibrant atmosphere. We also love family-owned restaurants like El Mero Mero in Pacoima, where you can enjoy tasty authentic dishes. For fun activities, we like to explore local playgrounds and museums, such as Kids Empire in Northridge and Discovery Cube LA in Sylmar. These places offer exciting play structures, hands-on exhibits, and engaging learning experiences for the whole family.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to dedicate our shout out to our parents, Jaime Negrete, Yolanda Cruz, Rita Chavez, and Alfonso Mora, for their support and guidance throughout our musical journey. From a young age, they have nurtured our passions, served as patient teachers, and played an instrumental role in shaping the musicians we are today. Without their love and encouragement, none of this would have been possible.
