We had the good fortune of connecting with Claire and Lily Andrew and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Claire and Lily, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
If you aren’t given the chance to tell your stories, we think it’s important to create those opportunities for yourself and others. So in 2018 we formed our production company, The Wildflower Sisters, to produce content we are inspired by. We are passionate about making economical films yet not compromising quality by playing to the strengths of the script, utilizing production value, and bringing together a tight knit passionate crew.

It’s important to represent young female film makers, and hopefully inspire others to go after their dreams. Change is in the Hollywood air and inclusivity of diverse story tellers is bringing about an exciting wave of film making.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We have always been creating as a sister team.

Some of our earliest home movies are of five year old Claire pointing a shaky video camera at two year old Lily and directing her to “do something”. This led to making horror films as teenagers, producing plays, acting and the creation of our production company in 2018 called The Wildflower Sisters.

In 2020 we released our first feature film – Max and Me, which was an incredible experience, full of learning lessons, overcoming fears, and support from an amazing crew/cast/and friends.

Although it’s not always easy, it is always worth following your dreams.

We like to think that the two little girls running around with a camera in their back yard, dressed up in costumes and fake blood, would be excited about where we are now.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
LA is the home of historic Hollywood and is a beacon for dreamers. Born and raised here, we grew up exploring the mountains, swimming in the ocean, spending entire days at The Getty Center, and working on film sets.

We love the well known/well beloved spots in LA as well as the hidden local gems.

A few of our favorite LA places are –

1). Meander through Venice and pretend it’s 1958 and you’re on the set of “Touch of Evil”…(or “Speed” in the 90’s).

2). Spend ALL DAY wandering through the Max Factor museum in Hollywood.

3). Then go catch a creature double feature at the historical Aero theater in Santa Monica.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
“It takes a village” is often said in regards to raising children, but the saying definitely applies to starting businesses and artistic endeavors. We are so grateful for all the support we have received throughout our life from our family and friends. Whether it’s our parents giving encouraging words or friends sharing their time to help, we are so incredibly grateful for all the helping hands along the way.
