We had the good fortune of connecting with Connor Dean and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Connor, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
I think my favorite quotes is, “What We Believe, We Achieve.” My acting teacher told this to me one day when I was feeling a bit down about my performance and some things that were happening in my life. When she told this to me it made we feel more confident in my abilities. To me it means that if I believe in myself and I believe in my goals I will be unstoppable. I use this philosophy in everything I do!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been very lucky in my life to be able to do all the things that I do. I am an actor, an athlete, and I work and support with charities that are close to my heart. I started in the industry very young because my brother was an actor, but fell in love with acting, auditioning, and working on sets. I am also a competitive tennis player. I train 20+ hours a week and travel all over SoCal for training with tournaments almost every weekend. To say the least it’s a busy schedule! It’s been challenging to balance my work, training, tournaments, and school. I’ve learned to work in the car and prioritize what’s important to me. I am lucky I have great friends that are supportive and understand if I can’t do something because of my other commitments. Along the way I’ve learned that working hard will help you reach your goals. I’ve learned that having a few good friends is better than a lot of friends. Most importantly I’ve learned that staying positive is important which is why I keep my social media positive. There are always going to be people out there that try to bring you down because they are jealous of you and all you do. You just have to stay positive and ignore the negativity. Always take the high road.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That’s a tough one! I definitely know we would go to theme parks. I love going to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farms, and Six Flags with my friends. Sea World is pretty fun too. Those are the places I go when I have free time. The Lamplight Lounge in California Adventure has the best burgers and drinks so we would have to eat there at least once. I would take them to the Funko Hollywood store. It’s a great place to shop for Funko Pop collectibles and also just enjoy the displays throughout the store. We would find time to eat some Sprinkles cupcakes (my favorite) and find a Crumbl Cookie store because their cookies are the best ever! I’m sure they would want to go to the beach and so we’d head to the Santa Monica Pier for the views and probably lunch at Bubba Gump’s restaurant. My favorite breakfast place is The Griddle. They have all kinds of unique pancakes that are huge and delicious. There is just so much to do and see here that it would be hard to get it all done in a week! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout out to my parents, but especially my mom. Without my mom I wouldn’t be able to do half of the things I do. She takes me everywhere, helps organize my schedule, and puts me and my brother above everything. I am very lucky to have her support and encouragement everyday.
