We had the good fortune of connecting with Courtney Spears and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Courtney, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My end goal as a mobile caterer and massage therapist would be to ultimately have my own restaurant and spa. I’ve always loved the idea of having a one stop shop, so to be able to combine the restaurant and spa into one brick and mortar would be amazing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets Craving Courtney’s apart from others is our attention to detail and the fact that we combine a liberating sensuality to enhance your dining experience. We want our consumers to be able to free themselves through their taste buds by introducing new and exciting foods to the palate. I’m most proud of the support I’ve received thus far from family and friends, as well as complete strangers. Professionally, I’ve always been an employee. I’ve worked since I was 16 years old in various fields and I feel like it’s had a major influence on how I choose to run my businesses. I pride myself on my level of customer service and I feel that’s what has given me lots of repeat clients. I want the world to know that Craving Courtney’s is an exact replica of my personality: fun, sensual, silly, and delicious!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to eat! My favorite things to do with the people I love are to eat good fun, have some amazing drinks, and listen to good music. West Hollywood may be my favorite place to hang out and dance with friends. I don’t have a favorite restaurant but I absolutely love a good Wagyu steak. It’s my favorite cut of beef so I’m always looking for places that can cook it to my liking. I also love seafood, which is why my cooking has an emphasis on seafood with a Cajun twist. I love reggae and r&b music as well so anywhere that has that is where you can usually find me on an off day! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my amazing husband, Darrius Spears for giving me the encouragement I needed to be able to step into entrepreneurship while being a wife and mother of four. Also, my many family and friends who’ve always told me that my talents need to be shared with the world. I would also like to credit my mentor Bex Sanchez of Femme Creatives for her help in bringing my artistry and creativity to life with branding and molding Craving Courtney’s into what it is today.
