Meet Cyrus Mohseni | CEO & Philanthropist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cyrus Mohseni and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cyrus, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my hard work and drive. I focus on being one percent better every single day and don’t let anyone out work me. In life there is always someone out there getting better than you by working harder than you and I always aim to be the one that is working harder.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I never planned to be in real estate or business in general. I always planned to be a professional soccer player. I had no doubt in my mind that would be my career until I decided to retire and then I would coach. After playing a couple years professionally I came home during an off season and as I was driving home from lunch, a car T-Boned me. This ultimately ended my career and I had to figure out what to do with my life. During each off season I would take a class of some sort and try to learn something new all of the time. This particular off season I was taking my real estate courses to get my license. I never wanted to be a real estate agent, I just thought it would be good to have. But, when my car accident happened I had to figure out what to do. I never went to college so I really wasn’t sure what to do with my life. I made the choice to go full time into real estate. Now I own one of the top real estate teams in the country and have received various rewards in the industry.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First stop would most definitely be Open Sesame in Long Beach for lunch. For dinner we would have to head over to The Bungalow Kitchen at 2nd and PCH in Long Beach. Next day I would probably take them out paddle boarding and head over to Ballast Point. For dinner we would have to hit up The Rose in Venice beach and get Salt and Straw for dessert on Abbot Kinney.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without my mentors, family, and friends I would not be where I am today. Every single time I feel overwhelmed or burnt out I know I can reach out to family, friends, or my mentors and get some clarity. Also, life and success is a lot more fun when you have people to share it with.
