Meet D.Lisa | Dream Doula

We had the good fortune of connecting with D.Lisa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi D.Lisa, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
When things seem wonky, and it seems like problems, circumstances, and situations are not in alignment with what I want, I say “this is what it looks like when it’s all working out” The universe is asking us to grow, and expand, as we see in nature. Even humans are ever changing, growing, creating. So when things look otherwise, I say this, and remember that “only good will come from this”.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a dream doula. What does this mean? I help people listen to their dreams, both the kind we have while planning or daydreaming, and especially the dreams we have at night. I usher people into a life they would love to live with my 12 week course, dream-builder, and have a year long mystery school where we dive deep into the dreams we have at night, mediation and mindfulness work, intuition and creativity. As an artist and creative I believe strongly that we are all creative and there is “no wrong way” to make art, or to design a life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When friends visit, I like to take them on a walk in the Ojai Preserve, visit the Krishnamurti foundation, and Meditation Mount. For food options in Ojai, I’d take them to Hip Vegan and the Nest and the Farmer and the Cook. We definitely visit Ventura where my art studio is at the H Gallery and Studios building, and eat at Harvest cafe (vegan GF mac and cheese is my favorite) Then, a walk on the beach in Carpenteria.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
So many people and organizations have helped me through the years! I am a member of Center for Spiritual Living, Ojai, and a past member of the Seattle CSL. I’ve studied with Mary Morrisey, James Van Praagh, and others. Currently, Rev Marilyn from the Ojai CSL is my lovely connector friend in town. She knows everyone, and is aligned with my views spiritually. I’ve met other spiritual teachers, healers, and business owners through her, as well as finding locations to hold my courses and retreats.
