Meet D2Millertime | Music Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with D2Millertime and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi D2Millertime, what do you attribute your success to?
Dedication. There are too many days to count where I wanted to give up and stop making music. More often than not I’m not just the producer. I’m the producer, the engineer, the promoter, I’m hitting up friends to get certain pictures for the album/single, and planning dates and schedules to make sure everything drops on time. I welcome the challenge because I know I can do it but there are some days when it can feel like a lot because I have work and school on top of that. However in those moments is when our resolve is tested. I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “Pressure makes diamonds”. Through those tough times have come two successful projects. No matter how many months it takes or adjustments I’ve had to make along the way, ultimately it gets done. The satisfaction you feel is amazing in these situations especially because you feel so proud of yourself in the way you persevered. On top of that how hard you worked is reflected in the music so receiving the compliments from people you know and others that you don’t is the cherry on top. You don’t have to always have to be the most talented or the most popular to be successful. You just have to be willing go out, put your feelings aside, and go get it done.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My goal when making music has always been to help give artists the right music to express themselves. I look at it like being the coach of a football team and my artist is the quarterback. The best coach-quarterback combos are the ones who consistently make it to the Super Bowl and I want to build this type of relationship with all the artists I work with.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles has so many fun places to check out! Monday through Wednesday I’m taking my friend to Hollywood to check all the dope independently owned shops on Melrose Blvd and then dine at the best food spots at The Grove. Thursday we’re going check out the dope rides they have at the Santa Monica Pier and Friday we’re going to go kick it at Venice Beach. It wouldn’t be a proper SoCal trip without a trip to Downtown Disney so that’s where we’ll be going on Saturday. Lastly on Sunday I’m taking my friend on a hike to the Hollywood Sign.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanna give a big shoutout to all my close friends and family for just sticking with me as I continue to get better. They take time out of their day to listen to the music I’m putting out and it really is a privilege because I’m not forcing them to do that. Even to the people I don’t know but who have heard my music I’m grateful for them as well because we’re complete strangers but my music touched you in a way for you to decide to reach out and give a compliment or simply save the song or album.
