Meet Damian King | The masked creative. Director / Photographer. Visual Artist.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Damian King and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Damian, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Always keep going! There is no stopping, at least for me and the way I view my art. I gave up in 2015, now I look back on those years as ones I could have used to sharpen my tools or could have put out more ideas into the world. To quote a pro-wrestler I interviewed by the name Gypsy Mac, phenomenal talent by the way go check her out, She was trained by veteran wrestler, Gino Rivera. When I asked her what was the best advice Gino gave to her, she responded “The day you quit is the day they come looking for you”. That has stuck with me since then. Great advice, it reminds me of that photo where the man is digging for gold, but when he gives up you can see the gold one carve away from being discovered. I will never give up. I have only one gear, there’s only one destination. Forward and to the top.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I call myself a visual creative for many reasons. My main focus right now is my Podcast, The Cutting Room Podcast. Where I invite anyone involved in Pro-Wrestling, Films, Television and we talk about how all these realms influence each other. The best way I can describe my show is, you know those talks you have with your best friends? And then say “if only we recored that!” that’s my show. I can confidently say that I am very unique with my interviews because of my ability to set myself apart. While other interviewers ask the usual questions. . I live for those reactions that I receive from my guests, like how did you know about that? I also use my education that I learned in Film School to creative videos from pro-wrestling shows and events I attend. I aim to film my experience in a more cinematic way. In 2026 there is a specific way of posting videos and styles that is popular. Which works for some people. I choose to be the one who goes the other route to set my work apart. When people see my work I want them to say, “Yeah, that has Damian King written all over it”. This year I am being a lot more selective with the things I attend because I will be very soon working on expanding my brand by collaborating with bigger platforms and releasing merchandise.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would immediately recommend we eat or have a drink at a restaurant where iconic films were shot at! A specific location would be The Fox Fire Room, where they shot the iconic bar scene in the film Magnolia. Or if it’s food you want, then Neptune’s Net would be the spot. Right off the PCH, what’s more of a thrill than to eat where Dominic Toretto and Brian O’Conner ate shrimp at after racing the Ferrari. Then to let the food go down, go VHS shopping at Orange County’s only speakeasy video store ! D.I.N.C Video provides a great experience by taking you back to those blockbuster Friday nights. To get the adrenaline back up we must attend a pro-wrestling show put on by any of the promotions in SoCal. To end the night, I say we go for a rooftop theater experience with Rooftop Cinema.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This one is dedicated to multiple people. First and foremost, to the people who have allowed me to create. To all the guests I have approached and have come onto my podcast, I thank you. I approach those interviews like they are championship matches. I do my research out of respect for what you do. All the kind words you have all given me stay with me and push me to keep going. A thank you to Unapologetic Pro, a pro-wrestling promotion / clothing brand, that invited me to go to San Diego to be able to film their most recent show. This was one of the goals I had for 2026 and was fulfilled right at the start of it. I also like to mention the veteran content creators that have given me recognition these past couple months. But before I end this dedication I would like to thank the people in my personal life who do not see me as often. Who understands what I’m trying to accomplish. They know better than anyone else how hard I am on myself, how passionate I am, who see how hard I work. I truly love you all.
