Meet Dan Turner | Leading change-driven results in business and wellness

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dan Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dan, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am originally from Winnipeg, Canada. I grew up dirt poor and was always told I would never succeed in anything. I learned that hard work absolutely pays off. I also learned not to listen to negative people and put yourself into a winning environment. You have to set a goal, no matter how big, and go out and get it. I became a pro athlete then translated that into a very successful business person including owning a number of companies and becoming an online influencer with a number of brand partners.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I spent 12 years on the pro-wrestling tour and it taught me a lot about life at many levels. It reminded me that fans were the reason I had a job and it was so important for me to give back via as much charity work as possible. I transitioned into the business world where I did a number of multi-million dollar turnarounds. I found while doing this that it was often the people who needed fixing more than the businesses. To that end I bought a wellness company and we now help people fix themselves by reversing type 2 diabetes. In never forgetting my wrestling roots, I also started a foundation that feeds families in need at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Never, ever forget where you came from!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start with a workout at Gold’s Gym Venice where they would meet some of the most interesting people in the world. From there maybe a run out to Palm Desert for some golf and great restaurants. Back here in LA I eat pretty clean so more steak houses would be on the menu and also some beach time. As a big hockey fan there would definitely be some LA Kings games as well. I have amazing seats. Probably try to find an art gallery that has a cool show going on also.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To everyone living below the poverty line who needs a helping hand up. . .
