We had the good fortune of connecting with D’Angelo “D’Lo” Louis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi D’Angelo “D’Lo”, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
“Treating people the way you want to be treated.” This may sound cliché, but it encompasses so much, and, at the end of the day, it preserves your dignity and self-respect. This saying holds deep significance for me because it allows you to embrace your humanity and feel comfortable in your own skin. This, in turn, enables you to become the best version of yourself. It’s all about recognizing the energy you project into the world in every aspect of your life, and most of the time, it’s reciprocated. Sure, you might encounter negative or miserable individuals, but that often stems from their personal struggles. When you’re conscious of the energy you exude and the intentions you carry, the people you associate with also pick up on it. It’s not about being overly nice, as they say, ‘nice guys finish last and stay broke.’ Instead, it’s about being a good, genuine person with pure intentions. More often than not, this approach not only helps you attain what you need and want but also propels you further on your mission.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally? Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
What distinguishes me is my unwavering commitment to authenticity. Throughout my journey, I’ve come to realize that my creative inspiration is deeply rooted in my personal experiences. I am an integral part of the community I narrate in my stories. The individuals I portray in these narratives are a genuine reflection of the encounters I’ve had. I hail from places where hope often feels like a rare commodity, and I’ve personally confronted the challenges that arise from limited opportunities and resources. It’s been paramount for me to accurately depict both the images and situations within this narrative, given my firsthand experience. While it’s true that amplification can effectively reinforce messages within specific narratives, it’s essential to remember that my beliefs and identity have primarily been shaped by the environment in which I’ve lived. I take great pride in the person I’ve become as a result of these experiences, both the highs and the lows. They’ve molded me into the individual I am today, providing invaluable insight into what truly matters. To me, that insight translates into leverage—leverage to pursue one’s ambitions, whether that means amassing wealth or creating opportunities for those in your sphere. My passion lies in the art of storytelling and the power of leverage.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the incredible individuals who lent me their time and wisdom throughout this journey. I’m an inherently self-aware person, sometimes to a fault. I’m constantly asking questions and delving deep into the spaces I inhabit. This quest for understanding and growth necessitates a supportive community, and it’s these people that I want to give the most heartfelt shout-out to. They are the ones who generously shared their knowledge, and they know exactly who they are.

I also want to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate myself. It’s important to recognize one’s own contributions and resilience. I’ve faced numerous challenges and adversities, and yet, I’m still standing here today. I want to thank myself for pushing through those tough mornings when self-doubt and imposter syndrome threatened to overwhelm me. It’s moments like these that remind me of a powerful quote that has fueled my determination: ‘There’s someone in a hospital bed or a prison cell who would give anything to be in the position you’re in, with the opportunities you have. So, seize the moment and make the most of it.’ So, to all those who supported me and to myself for staying resilient, this shout-out is for you.
