We had the good fortune of connecting with DANIEL RAYNOTT and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DANIEL, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“Love what you do and do what you love. Passion is the key that opens the door to joy and abundance.” — David Cuschieri

Being a full-time artist, devoting your days and sometimes your nights without thinking about other work is an extraordinary opportunity. An artistic career is pursued with passionate people: the art galleries.
It is the intermediary with collectors, a fluid and close collaboration which gives enthusiasm and helps the artist progress in his creation.
One day fate made me meet the wonderful team at the Coda gallery in Palm Desert who quite naturally successfully presents my South California inspired paintings.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My paintings are often luminous with light and colors.
There can be a form of nostalgia that makes us good, and reminds us of our childhood.
Contemporary art is often dark, mine is joyful like a vacation memory, it is a reflection of my personality.
I like this sentence from an art critic “you are an artist of Happiness1
My art is optimistic happy and we like to live with it.
It’s a window opened to happiness.

An artistic road is never a straight line, it is made up of influences and encounters,

I have learned a lesson: always continue your path as an artist with passion, listen to your creativity, and work a lot.

In a troubled world, I would like my painting to be a light of hope.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
-Santa Monica so close to the city center with the feeling of having gone far away for the weekend and also for its exciting artistic scene.

-Torrance:
Culinarily, the city’s extensive list of excellent ramen restaurants has earned it a reputation as the ideal place to enjoy Japanese-style tonkatsu ramen in Southern California and enjoy it on the Ramen Trail ,

-Beverly Hills iconic Hotel a dream architecture in LA.

-A very interesting museum in Los Angeles, the Hilbert Museum of California Art at Chapman University, the arts of the Golden State from the 1900s to the present.

Palm Desert Palm Spring
I would rent a pink vintage Cadillac convertible from the 60s!
We could find ourselves in 1960…. on the road singing My Way, meeting Marylin Monroe, Franck Sinatra or Cary Grant… just a dream!

Visit the mid century dream villas: genius architects: Richard Neutra, Wiilam Krisel or Albert Frey.
Palm spring aerial Tramway Enjoy over 50 miles of hiking trails, stunning views of the entire Coachella Valley.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
An artist’s life is a path of adventure made up of “encounters” At eleven years old I visited an exhibition by the New Yorker cartoonist Jean-Jacques Sempé, upon returning home I started to draw and since then I never stopped. I had just discovered my passion!

Then there were the first exhibitions in art galleries, the openings, a life rich in colors in travel and exchanges.
The happiness renewed over all these years, of sharing my works with collectors. A person buying the work of an artist is always an act of love. My gratitude to all my collectors who are living with a part of me.
