We had the good fortune of connecting with Danielle Rubenstein and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danielle, how do you think about risk?
Life is all about taking risks! If you take risks in life you are one step closer to your life purpose. An example of me taking a risk in my life was to start making desserts and treats for people. My biggest fear was people might not like my product. I really strive to perfect my recipes until they taste perfect to me. Another example of a risk I took was starting my own beignet catering. I tested out my beignet recipe for 2 years until I announced I was offering my services. Although I started my beignet caterings in January 2024 I’ve already been to serval baby showers, children’s birthday parties and bridal showers. This is only the beginning and I’m excited to see what is in store.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I believe what sets me apart from others is my authenticity and showing up for my business when I need to even on those days where I’m not feeling my best.

Something I’m most proud of is not giving up on my dreams even when life got hard. I’m excited for the future and what my business has in store for me.

Where I’m at buisness wise was not easy. There were lots of sleepless nights, lots of self-doubt, and days where I wanted to give up. On those days, I wanted to give up. I learned to rest and recharge to make sure I filled my cup before I can continue on with business. Those days when I felt self-doubt and wasn’t good enough were the hardest part because I wouldn’t want to take any orders. It felt like I had lost my spark. How I overcame that was asking for help from friends and family. Whatever the help I got from them kept my motivation from never giving up on my vision.

One thing I want the world to know is never give up on your dreams. Even when life throws you curve balls, just go right through pain, fear, trauma, or whatever comes your way, and eventually, you will see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was in town for the week I would take her to a few favorite spots in LA County.

A food place I would take her is to the Blossom Market Hall in San Gabriel. It’s a food hall that has so many amazing food vendors. My go to when I go is AK Roast (the best Vietnamese Coffee) and Honey and Hive Superfoods (the best Acai bowls and smoothies)

Another food places I would take her to is Lord Empanada in Monrovia. Honestly the best birria empanada along side the banana and nutella empanada.

A drink place I would take her is my favorite brewery in Monrovia called Overtown Brewery. Owners Brian and Carlos are the sweetest and have the greatest hospitality. The beer taste great as well. I always get the michilada.

For self care, I would probably take her to get a massage at Massage Envy in Monrovia.

For another form of self care, I would treat her to the viral scalp treatment. I would recommend M Head Spa in Rosemead. The experience and customer service was amazing!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First off I want to thank my family. If it wasn’t for their genuine love and support I don’t know where I would be at in life. I come from a family where we try to life each other up. We always want the best for each other! A huge shout out to my dad (may he rest in peace) was always there for me at events, in the kitchen helping me or even just lifting me up with encouraging words when I was down in life. My sister Amber is another huge supporter. She was always asking me if I need help with anything, she would help me buy supplies for me, and even come to my house and help me with orders. My husband Franky, the one person that saw all behind the scenes of me pursing my dreams on the daily, watching me go to my day job, then come home and work on my baking buisness. He watched it grow from the nothing to something so beautiful. He was helpful when he can by going to my events, getting supplies, take orders out to my customers or drive orders to my customers house, and he also shared his ideas on what he thought would help the buisness be successful.

Secondly, if it wasn’t for my best friend Jennie and her mom Jane for allowing us to do baking shows in her kitchen at 9 years old and being there to support us along that journey, who knows what I would be doing right now. Jane is like a second mom to me and wishes nothing but the best for my life.

Third, to my childhood friend Veronica! You’ve helped me tremendously in my personal life along side being there as much as you can in my baking journey. I remember those times you would bring your children and help me dip treats in my kitchen. No matter what the circumstances were you would help me when you could.

Lastly, to my friend Jasmin that came along in my baking journey and showed me true genuine love and support by keeping me motivated to follow my dreams! You have been a huge help with my beignet catering journey. I’m so excited to see where our friendship takes us.
