Meet David Ballantine | Owner of Frosty Falcon LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with David Ballantine and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi David, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was working for a small produce distributor. During that experience I realized how valuable trucks and vans are that are refrigerated. So figured I would start a small scale refrigerated van service that could provide transport and distribution service on a smaller scale than the large distribution companies.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business offers refrigerated transportation service in the Los Angeles area, and sometimes beyond that if necessary. We own and operate a small refrigerated van, which can easily maneuver in any alley, parking lot, or parking garage in Los Angeles. We offer small businesses the flexibility to transport their goods in the region without having to pay for and coordinate with a large distribution company. Our service is simple and only charges a clear hourly fee which includes all costs including gas. We can also accommodate same day or next day requests depending on our schedule.
This is the second business I’ve started, so I have had some valuable experience previously. My first business was a small raw, organic chocolate company. I learned a lot from that, especially about having low operating costs. So with this new business, I saw an opportunity when I realized it could be operated efficiently. It hasn’t been easy to decide business idea to run with, because I tend to have many ideas, and only two so far I have decided to put into action. Taking each task one step at a time has helped me to progress in the business field.
With business, I’ve learned that one of the most important aspects is relationships. Making and maintaining business relationships helps the business to grow over time. It’s pretty much as simple as that.
I want the world to know that Frosty Falcon LLC is a simple, honest company. We have a straight forward business model, and we really do love transporting goods around the area. We focus on customer service and professional behavior.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d take my friend for a drive up Angeles Forest. Then go on a waterfall hike up there. Another day we’d go to Malibu (fires pending) and eat lunch at a restaurant on the pier. The Petersen Car Museum would be on the list. Also the Academy Theater, which screens films several days a week, plus they have a great museum. Get some cheeseburgers at Bob’s Big Boy in Burbank. More hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains. We’d take a few days to drive up to Santa Barbara, find some good restaurants, and check out the scenery.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my parents. They have supported me in various ways, while being patient and trusting.
