We had the good fortune of connecting with Dawna Jarvis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dawna, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
My business specializes in partnering with small business owners and creatives to unlock their full potential and achieve their goals. What sets me apart from others is my unconventional, nonsense approach. I offer strategies that break the mold and help my clients build a strong brand that stands out in their industry. I’m proud to say that my clients have seen tremendous growth and success through our work together.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Can you tell us more about your business? What sets you apart from others, and what are you most proud of or excited about? Sure! My business is focused on helping creators and business owners grow and dominate their niche. What sets me apart from others is my commitment to delivering real value to my clients. I take a no-nonsense approach to my work, using my natural leadership skills and strategic mindset to develop plans that deliver results.

What I’m most proud of is the success that my clients have achieved under my guidance. I’ve worked with businesses of all sizes and niches, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see their growth and progress.

How did you get to where you are today business-wise? Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
My journey to where I am today started with my career as a hairstylist. While I loved the creative aspect of the job, I discovered my true passion in helping others achieve their goals. From there, I transitioned into business strategy, starting with my own salon and eventually expanding to work with clients of all kinds.

It definitely wasn’t easy, and I faced plenty of challenges along the way. One of the biggest was making sure that my clients were a good fit and fully engaged in the transformation process. I’ve also had to navigate a market that’s becoming increasingly saturated with consultants and coaches who focus more on sales than on providing value.

To overcome these challenges, I’ve had to stay true to my values and beliefs. I remain committed to empowering my clients and bringing them real value, no matter what.

What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
I’ve learned that personal and professional growth go hand-in-hand. It’s essential to work on both aspects of your life to achieve true success. I’ve also learned the importance of staying true to your values and not compromising them for anyone or anything.

Additionally, I’ve learned the power of being upfront and honest with my clients. This helps ensure that we are aligned in our goals and can work together effectively.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I want the world to know that I’m passionate about helping others achieve their goals and that I’m committed to bringing real value to my clients. I’m authentic, genuine, and take a no-nonsense approach to my work. I believe in empowering others to take action and make progress, both personally and professionally.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend visited the area, I would want to show them the best time ever! So, for starters, I would take them on some of Southern California’s most spectacular hikes. One of my personal favorites is the Sycamore Canyon Trail, which takes you through stunning canyons and ends at a beautiful beach in Malibu. The views are truly breathtaking, and I know my friend would love it. If my friend were coming from the northeast, where I’m originally from, I would take them down to Malibu for the best lobster roll on the West Coast. The Broad Street Oyster House is my go-to spot for this delicacy, and I know my friend would be blown away by the flavor and freshness.
After our adventure, I would pamper us by booking an appointment at the Canyon Salon and Extension Bar in Westlake Village, known for catering to the stars. It would be fun to get our hair done and enjoy some celebrity treatment for the day.
To round out the trip, I would book us a retreat led by Aine Rock, who facilitates the most spectacular breathwork experiences. It would be an amazing way to unwind and rejuvenate, and I know my friend would leave feeling renewed and inspired.
Overall, there are so many fun, interesting, and exciting people, places, and things to check out in this area. I would be thrilled to show my friend all of my favorite spots and create unforgettable memories together.
