We had the good fortune of connecting with Deanna Visperas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Deanna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Before, I’ve never really known when the idea for this business is going to strike. I was working in 9 to 5 jobs, although I have this great interest in digital marketing. I’ve always envisioned owning a digital marketing agency. However, I found out early in life that I didn’t enjoy working for others, so I decided to work for myself as soon as I graduated from college. But things didn’t come up the way I planned. With my interest in digital marketing, I’ve learned that it is not some sort of easy task. Even though my course is computer-related, it would never be enough. I realized that I have to gain a massive experience if I have to own a digital marketing agency. I had been working for marketing jobs for different enterprise companies where I gained a lot of marketing strategies for more than five years until I finally decided that it’s the right time to make my dreams come true. And so on June 30 of 2015, I finally founded DSV Digital Management Corporation with the vision of creating business value through transparency and connection for all – clients, owners, and virtual employees. I believe that our clients’ success means our success as well.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
DSV Digital offers services like digital marketing, lead generation, management consulting, outsourcing, staffing agency, and virtual assistance services. It’s a one-stop-shop for online marketing and advertising. I guess what sets us apart from others is the fact that our team is composed of 100% pure Filipinos that I am most proud of. Aside from that, as the founder and CEO of DSV Digital, I personally screen and hire aspiring virtual assistants to ensure that they are capable of bridging the gap between cultural differences.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
LA has been a home to me and it keeps me grounded. The people in LA are one of the most amazing, artistic, passionate and fearless people I have ever met! I love the diversity and the togetherness of the LA community. My favorite areas to hangout are, Venice Beach, Manhattan Beach, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Brentwood and Santa Monica. Even though each neighborhood is next to each other, they each have something different to offer. LA is such a dog friendly city and i love walking my baby pug to all the dog parks around the city and bringing him to almost all dog friendly cafe’s! Hollywood is one of the best places to show around and all the different film studios! The best spot for a drink is in Malibu! Lot’s of unique seaside restaurants and always good for people watching, you might spot some stars! In terms of food, you can’t go wrong with Asian cuisine in Sawtelle. It is really authentic that it brings back a looooot of memories! Also, you can’t talk about LA without mentioning the weather, it’s almost perfect everyday of the year!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It’s been a long journey for me so far. I am in every way thankful to all the clients I have who put their trust in me. I would like to thank my family and dear friends for all the support they had given to me, for all the understanding during my failures, and for lifting me when I’m down. Along the way, there are people who helped me to become organized and kept me motivated at all times. They know who they are and all I can say for now is that all of them have contributed significantly to where I am right now. I’ll take this moment to say, “Once again, thank you so much, guys!” Last but not the least, to my amazing partner in life Drew Binsky! We have supported each other through ups and downs and all these crazy dreams and ideas we have and making all our dreams come true. He has been my rock and my ultimate cheerleader!
