We had the good fortune of connecting with Deborah Capogrosso and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Deborah, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
What makes me happy is Freedom and Freedom, coupled with the spirituality that lives in my heart, are the key factors that have given me such happiness in my life. Letting go gives us Freedom, and Freedom is the only condition for happiness. If in our hearts, we still cling to anything – anger, anxiety or possession – we cannot be free. I created the hands free Freedom Belt made of soft leather which holds your Iphone, money, horse treats, lipsticks and passports. Two small loops which hold your sunglasses as you gallop into the night or walk along the ocean.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I hold a Brokerage license in Real Estate, have produced for television and film, have written a cookbook, rescued horses and dogs, and created MYFREEDOMBELT.COM. I ride my horses and know the importance of hands free and focus. Having style and wanting a cool belt for my phone, horse pick and treats without having to dig for them and get distracted was essential.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a fun question. The morning would begin with a cappuccino, egg over toast with basil and tomato. We would sit outside on the deck and enjoy nature. Then – it would be riding horses in Ojai followed by a fabulous lunch of fish tacos and charcoal lemonade at The Nest. The drive back along Pacific Coast Highway would be relaxing. Walking my dog before dinner at home or at The Farm on the Malibu Pier followed by a walk on the beach would be delightful. During the week we would hike, cycle dance and enjoy nature. The Getty Villa in Malibu is one of my favorite places to visit. Perferring nature and the outdoors, attending a concert at The Hollywood Bowl would be a lovely way to end the evening.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would dedicate my shoutout to My two sons, my siblings, my friends and of course my horses who have all encouraged my creativity.
