We had the good fortune of connecting with Demi Boyer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Demi, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my business was . I want to be able to make someone feel good within because of what they are wearing . To bring confidence, poise and elegance that no one can take from them . To be able to create a signature style for someone and it stick with them for the rest of there life . To bring out a part of a person they never seen before. Through out my life I had always got compliments on the way I dressed . It was therapeutic to me to be able to put looks together. Do things that everybody wasn’t doing but yet you still caught there eye because it was unique different !! . I wanted to create a platform for women and also for men . It’s not what you wear but how you wear it , and I can help you do that !
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart As a wardrobe stylist . Yes I want you too look good but , my priority is that you feel good in what you have on . Everyone I style I want to leave a lasting impression of . She showed me aside of myself I never seen . She challenged me as far as wearing something different but still being me and extremely confident . My motto is it’s not what you wear but how you wear it confidence it key . It’s start within and if I can do that for you . I’ve don’e my job . I’m most proud of the work I have done . From clients , friends had family . I have my moments where i always feel I’m not doing enough . Then someone will tag me in the work I’ve done . Or going through my portfolio or potential clients reaching out to me . Or honestly to be able to go to Stylesbydejah.com and realize I’ve created my own business. It’s shows how far I’ve come and I’m no where near done . I’m just getting started . It’s definitely not easy fashion changes everyday and people get bored , but I’ve learned as long as you stay consistent and keep sharing your gift and keep believing. Opportunities will open specifically just for you . The lessons I’ve learned through out my journey and I’m still in it is whatever you want out of life don’t wait on nobody to give it to you . You have to go and get for yourself . Being a wardrobe stylist it’s not just the “help” . Stylesbydejah brings confidence , diversity, class , art and a experience . To not just your wardrobe but most importantly you . My goal is to make it to Paris fashion week and I’m going to get there .
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m from Long Beach California but I was raised in the inland empire . So they would see a little bit of everything . My first stop would be La Jolla San Diego . I love the beach and a good view . We would go to this nice restaurant called eddy Vs very good sea food , Then take them to down town Long Beach . Where there is a strip of bars where we could bar hop , listen to live music , eat good food and be around good energy then the last stop would be Javier’s restaurant in Newport beautiful Scenery and shopping !
