We had the good fortune of connecting with Denise (DENYC) Poole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Denise (DENYC), how does your business help the community?
FLAUNT is bringing all performing artists TOGETHER!! It’s not a company, it’s a community 🙂 That is the philosophy I have chosen for my business. It’s about creating opportunities for artists to make a living doing what they love and to know they have a support system and someone in their corner who will fight for their rights.

Too often, artists are taken advantage of, and FLAUNT is here to empower and educate. In addition to booking artists, we host workshops, classes, community events, and parties.

Our dance classes are for everyone – all levels and all genders. It’s a safe space to explore freestyle movement with a sexy heels foundation. We also hold a free community class once a month. Dance is medicine, and everyone deserves this!

What should our readers know about your business?
FLAUNT is an entertainment company, dance academy, and creative community. We’re the only freestyle heels training program of our kind, with a focus on stage presence, confidence, and finding your own dance flow — not chasing “perfect” technique. At our core, we operate with a team mentality. This isn’t just a business; it’s a collective. We celebrate diversity, invest in people, and grow together.

I’m especially proud of what we’ve built through the FLAUNT Academy. The program has become the heart of the company — a space that’s energetic, empowering, and unlike anything else out there. The classes and the environment around them are intentional, fun, and rooted in real artistic expression. My vision is to continue expanding the program, teach more classes, and eventually bring the curriculum online so we can reach and serve a wider community.

Beyond education, creating real opportunities is central to the mission. We focus on booking work for dancers and creatives — not just training them, but helping them actually work. When one person succeeds, it lifts the entire community, and that shared momentum is what drives me.

The journey wasn’t easy. Like many creative entrepreneurs, I navigated uncertainty, limited resources, and moments of self-doubt. There was no blueprint — just a deep passion for music and dance, and years of building genuine relationships within the industry. I learned to pivot when needed, listen closely to the community I serve, and trust that consistency and integrity would pay off.

At the end of the day, FLAUNT is about impact, not ego. I believe in education that empowers, opportunities that are shared, and building something that opens doors for others. Artists matter — and so does having the courage to follow your dreams.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve been in LA long enough to know everything lol. There’s just so much to do. Here are a few LA highlights I wouldn’t let you miss: For the Win for a burger and fries, sunsets along the coast, shopping on Melrose, drinks in WEHO, a workout at HOT 8 and LAGREE, smoothies at Body Energy or Erewhon, breakfast on Ventura Blvd., nights out to secret warehouses, summer pool vibes at Level 8, movies at the dine-in theaters, and sushi at Sugarfish. Enjoy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this interview to the culture. Music and dance have continued to inspire me to build this community and give back to all the artists out there.
