We had the good fortune of connecting with Peter DeWitt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Peter, how does your business help the community?
At its heart, the Gay Wellness platform and community is about making it easier to find someone you can trust to work on you, work with you, in sprawling Los Angeles. From West Hollywood to the Eastside, we’re building pathways safety, trust, and real connection. In a place where queer health resources can sometimes feel scattered or hard to navigate, Gay Wellness is here to people find support, presence, and a sense of belonging in the neighborhoods they actually call home.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
GayWellness started from a simple idea: finding care shouldn’t feel awkward, unsafe, or transactional — especially in queer spaces. It was super hard in the beginning, and I would walk all over LA connecting with small business owners, helping them set up their profile on the site. I’d listen to their pain points and offer consultation on how they can improve their marketing. I learned so much.

What began as a small, city-by-city directory has grown into a global platform that connects gay men with trusted wellness providers, from massage and bodywork to yoga, coaching, and holistic care. The goal has always been less about building a marketplace and more about building infrastructure for visibility, safety, and real human connection.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were in town for a week, I’d start in West Hollywood with a slow, sun-soaked brunch — somewhere you can sit outside, people-watch, and ease into the city’s rhythm. From there, I’d head to a museum for a dose of culture and perspective, whether that’s contemporary art, film history, or something quietly beautiful that lets the day unfold at its own pace. Another day would be reserved for the coast — a long walk along the beach, bare feet in the sand, coffee in hand, and that unmistakable feeling of LA space and light. To close the week, I’d bring it back to WeHo for a night at The Abbey.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to thank the mentors of the LAGLCC who helped inspire and mentor me along the way!
