Meet Denise Johnson: Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Denise Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Denise, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I originally started my business to help my family out. I was a stay at home mom with two little boys and wanted to help my husband and family financially. I know I had a passion for photography that started as a young child. In 2013 I received a incentive to begin my journey. From that point on, I never looked back and I keep pushing forward by leaps and bounds.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love being able to bring my client’s ideas come to life, and I love seeing the excitement in their eyes when they get their photos back. One of the things I believe set me apart is connecting with my clients on a deeper level. Right now I am most proud of becoming a published photographer, since 2020 I have had over 130 photos published in over 20 different magazines. I got to where I am today by keeping my focus, keep myself motivated, and open to continued growth. No, the journey has not been easy, I have jumped over many hurdles and lots of setbacks but without those hurdles I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am super excited for the future and can’t wait to see where my journey takes me. I truly believe the sky is the limit.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely start at Leo Carrillo Beach, it’s definitely a favorite place of mine. I would definitely be taking them to various Italian restaurants so I am open to trying new spots. I would love to visit Cambria, stay at a hotel on the beach, check out the area since I have never been there. I love exploring little towns. I would end up taking them to San Luis Obispo to finish out the trip. Another fun area to check out.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to start by giving thanks to my Father, who unfortunately is no longer living. He was the first person to cultivate my love and passion for Photography. Next I would love to give a huge shoutout to my Mother, and my siblings who are all super supportive and love seeing my work and cheering me on in my accomplishments. I would also like to say thanks to one of my best friend’s who has also been super encouraging and supportive of my passion. This friend of mine has been continuously a gigantic support and tells me to keep going daily.
