We had the good fortune of connecting with Joe Grah and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Joe, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
To ultimate goal at all times is to create and cohabitate efficiently and productively. After experiencing varying degrees of success through cooperation, and a lack thereof, one tends to look inward as much as outward for reasonable solutions and alternative operation methods. Much like moving from a band member to a solo artist, independence can be highly rewarding.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Music has always fueled my passion for life. Beginning very early on with drums and out front as a vocalist for the last two decades, I’ve always inadvertently gravitated towards adversity and overcoming challenging hurdles. Human nature is to explore and reflect, and music offers a unique and diverse soundtrack to titillate the senses along the way.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It starts with a morning walk and, of course, a swim on the beautiful beaches of Malibu, followed by breakfast at the Water Lilly cafe in Topanga Canyon. We would continue to Topanga Canyon State Park for an intense and technical 2 hr mountain bike session. Following the drive back to West Hollywood, our first stop is Max Noce Clothing in Beverly Hills for a drink with friends. Next, the Sunset Marque for dinner and off to a late-night party in the hills to watch the sun come up again.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My partner in crime would be Charles Lee Salvaggio, aka Charlie Snow. We played in the Island Def-jam group Loser with John 5 and have worked together for years now. Charles’ is a casting director who also directs my music videos. In addition to being a phenomenal bassist and guitarist who plays on all of my music, Charles and I also have a band called I Am The Wolf.
