We had the good fortune of connecting with Denise Michelle Waling and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Denise Michelle, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Choosing to do and commit to my inner work. I’d say 90% of my success comes from diving deep to heal limiting beliefs, past trauma, inner child and generational issues. 10 % would come from taking inspired action.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am a Certified Transformational Life Coach, Rapid Transformation Hypnotherapist, creator of HypnoHealing®, #1 Best Selling Author, Think and Grow Rich Instructor and Self Love Expert with a background in the healing arts and spiritual entrepreneurship. My path began nearly 20 years ago being diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. I have dedicated my life to self-mastery overcoming the illness, along with suicidal depression, anxiety, addiction, sexual abuse, domestic abuse and am on a mission to help be the change in the world through Love. I dedicate her deep connection with spiritual work and self-love education to help healers, spiritual entrepreneurs, and influencers in their path to serve. I have learned that living a vision-driven life is the ultimate practice of Self Love, the place where dreams come alive and transformation is made. I feel like from the moment of birth I questioned what Love is and I have spent my entire life exploring it. Come to find that it was within me all along. I am here to educate and teach others to do the same. I consider myself a bridge, thus my company, Bridge The Love. It wasn’t easy to realized this was my life’s purpose. I had to make a decision to leave my corporate job of 10 years and heal BPD (which took me 14 years), unlearn unhealthy patterns and habits into healthy coping skills so I could survive in the world and have a real chance at life. I then became a yoga instructor and opened a little studio in Downtown LA called The Yoga Place. I wanted to give others what yoga had given to me – a place to heal, so classes were much like passive therapy session for many of my students. Showing up for people, teaching what I knew and building a community gave me purpose to keep going when I didn’t know if I could take another step. The problem was I overcommitted myself. I was dealing with distrust, perfectionism and burnout. After 4.5 years I had a spiritual awakening during a surfing accident that split my face and heart open, which would lead me to close the studio. I wandered for a couple of years in private yoga and body work but I wasn’t satisfied. After a Vipassana retreat in 2017, I was on the verge of life and death again and I prayed for guidance. I was led to my mentor Mary Morrissey who was an expert in dream building and transformation. I bit the bullet, found the money and invested tens of thousands to study with her. Eventually I was led to RTT Hypnotherapy which helped me take my clients (I call them Spiritual Warriors), to the root cause of their blocks and healing. It was the missing link and my business has been thriving ever since. Some lessons I’ve learned are to Trust with a capital T. Many times I couldn’t understand why I was still having money blocks, failure and questioning myself and sometimes my path. I had to have faith that everything was unfolding in divine order. I spend a lot of time working on myself so I can listen deeply to the answers and the direction I’m supposed to go next. I also stopped working 14 hour days and trying to rush the process. The more I let go, took care of my body, mind and spirit, the more clear everything has become. Now things tend to fall into place. Yes I have feel fear, but that fear no longer has me. Fear is.a stepping stone and showing me I’m growing. I would love the world to know that we are always either in Love or Fear. Love is truly the only thing powerful enough to heal our hearts. I’m not saying it’s easy but the only way out is through and on the other side of issues, circumstances, situations – if one continues to step in and have faith – is Love. Going further is SelfLove. Brene Brown says we can only love others as deeply as we love ourselves. The journey of life is to dis-cover the authentic magic that lives within. I know I will be preaching about love and it’s ripple effect until I turn back into stardust – this is my mission in life.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This question makes me giggle because I don’t drink and we are still currently in Covid times. So it would definitely be visiting my tranquil home in Topanga Canyon. We would hang the beach, go for a hike, even take them surfing and would eat at one of my fave restaurants – Cafe Gratitude, Inn at the Seventh Ray, La Chingona (yum homemade tacos), Cholada Thai Restaurant. Gosh I really have to think of this pre-covid times and things I loved! Some favorite places I love usually include nature but I also love fun and adventure. I love community events like Unleashed Movement, Ecstatic Dance LA, Kirtan at Bhakti Yoga Shala, Sound Healing, hanging with my tribe I.Am.Life. and various personal development events such as Mary Morrissey, Think and Grow Rich and Abraham Hicks.
