We had the good fortune of connecting with Denisse Dabul and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Denisse, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want my legacy to be my work and all the creative content I’ve shared. I want to be a role model not only in the country I was born and raised but also a role model here in the United States.
When I was a little girl I used to hear a lot this phrase that hits me: “women should give up stuff once they become mothers”. I never shared this and I never accepted this as something that should apply to me.
I love my kids, and just because I love myself doesn’t mean I don’t love them. And that’s exactly what I want people to remember about me, how I love to encourage women and moms to pursue their dreams and to choose to do what they love doing. I want all moms to know that you don’t have to do the first thing that comes up just because you are a mom and a breadwinner.
I want all moms to be happy with the path they have chosen to follow, because when you do what you love, more positive things come your way. And that’s the best example someone can give their kids. To choose what you love, not what yo have to.
If mom is happy, the whole family is.
I’m a creator and I am passionate about it. And that’s what I want for all moms out there, to be passionate about what they do.
I would also like to be remembered as a fighter, a risk-taker, a dreamer, a passionate and a free soul, but most importantly, as a happy person. I want to be remembered as an imperfect woman who learned how to be her best self and encourage more women to do the same.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think what makes me different is that I love fashion and I’ve managed to make a connection between fashion and motherhood. And I’ve included my kids in my personal and professional projects.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Rodeo Drive because of its minimalist style. I also love the streets of Beverly Hills. The unique architecture and history of the houses from Beverly Hills.
I also love The Polo Lounge at Beverly Hills Hotel because it has a garden in it and their food is amazing. It is a beautiful place.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate this shoutout to my husband Brian Dabul, thanks to him we have been able to build our home and our family. And I love my family and the support they give me.
