We had the good fortune of connecting with Desanka Ilic and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Desanka, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was inspired to start my own business because I wish I had a mentor from an affordable music marketing and public relations firm when I started my music industry journey. We strive to take everything business related off of the artist’s plate so they can just focus on the music.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own Cold Coffee Entertainment, which is a music marketing and public relations firm by artists, for artists. My boyfriend and I started the company right before we began our Master’s Degrees, so we were definitely hit with a lot of learning curves along the way. But we figured it out as we went, built so many valuable relationships, and learned an incredible amount, which has lead us to where we are today!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is easy. We would eat tacos at Guisados in Burbank and/or get the Chinese Chicken Salad at Joan’s on Third in Studio City, get boba at Alfred’s Tea in West Hollywood, and go to Disneyland and/or The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I will definitely dedicate a shoutout to my boyfriend, David Pinder! He is my business partner, best friend, and biggest supporter.
