We had the good fortune of connecting with Dianna Graves and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dianna, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Dianna Graves Mom Loves Travel Agency
What is the most important factor behind your success/the success of your brand?
Owning my own travel agency is a dream of mine that came to fruition. The most important factor for Mom Loves Travel Agency is our independent contractors/agents. Our agency builds upon being a family and our agents are a part of the Mom Loves Travel family. Our agency/agents’ network with each other, support each other and will be there to get through the tougher times, like COVID 19 has brought upon the travel industry. Our agents will even pass referrals on to our other agents, when they feel the client would be best suited with the other agent’s specialization or particular knowledge of the travel.
Mom Loves Travel agents are committed to their clients and develop lasting relationships with them also. Mom Loves Travel agents are there to really help travelers book their dream vacations and at times, I see, the agents more excited about the travel booking than the client initially. Mom Loves Travel agents push our agency into top sales and relationships with our travel industry leaders.
Our agents have become successful travel agency owners and the agency is there to support, help, educate, train, mentor them to assist in being successful travel agents/entrepreneurs. We are here to allow new, as wells as experienced, agents an intimate travel agency setting to grow their travel business. Staying continuously up to date with the travel industry, products, marketing, relationship with suppliers, and business practices is a must for Mom Loves Travel to pass on to our agent’s success.
What should our readers know about your business?
Mom Loves Travel Agency is a full-service travel agency that books travel worldwide for clients. The agency started in 2014, but not independently at first. I was under a host agency for the first couple of years, before branching out and becoming an independent travel agency with IATAN and CLIA accreditations. I felt like I was not getting the training and support needed to be doing a good job with my first two host agencies.
In the beginning of starting my travel career I wanted to educate myself every way that I could to be a successful fabulous travel agent and enrolled in a Travel Marketing program at a Northern California college. I was able to graduate with an Associate Degree in Travel Marketing. The classes that I completed built my knowledge and confidence in branching out to become an independent travel agency with independent contractors. It was not easy initially when I enrolled in college again, at a later age and having a Master’s in Counseling, because I gotten ill in 2013 and retired from my Social Work position, I held 19 years. By 2014, I was able to get healthier, and I continue to work with my auto immune issues.
For me having the issues I had in the beginning of my travel career, gave me a clear direction on how to educate, support and train the agents that sell travel with Mom Loves Travel Agency. I want to be there for them 24/7.
I would like the world to know that travel agents are not a thing of the past! That now, especially since Covid, we are the best advocate/support a client can have. Mom Loves Travel Agency works on the basis of integrity, kindness and confidence with our clients and our travel agents.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area, we would take a quick trip to Cabo San Lucas from Northern CA.
We would stay at the Le Blanc all inclusive luxury resort and allow our butler to spoil us!
We would eat at my favorite restaurant Blanc Ocean because I love their shrimp burgers and the views of the beach/ocean at your footsteps. Another night we would eat at Mezze, so my friend could enjoy the Lebanese menu.
Since we are at an all inclusive resort, we would try all types of non alcohol and alcohol drinks.
We would have to retreat to spa on one day, do some tours, like a tequila tasting and enjoy the entertainment provided by the resort.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize all the travel agents that are with, or have been with, Mom Loves Travel Agency! And to those agents that pushed me to pursue my dream of owning my own travel business!
