We had the good fortune of connecting with Dilan “Chef Dillo” Rajan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dilan “Chef Dillo”, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is the foundation of my success. From the moment my parents brought me into this rapidly changing world, life has been nothing short of a risk to survive and succeed. I learned at an early age that discovering success wouldn’t happen until I packed my bags & set sail off the shores of my comfort zone.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I constantly catch myself thinking about “what did this little brown boy, myself, do to deserve working with artists & companies such as Diddy, Gunna, National Geographic, Scott Storch, The Isley Brothers, Tyga, YG, etc.” ? I did not attend school, my family disowned me, & I had nothing to my name. I couldn’t even say I owned a dream back then but, I did find a passion & calling for music through all the pain I was feeling.

I began using my pain as fuel/motivation to find a deeper purpose. I went from job to job, sleeping from floor to floor, working free gig after free gig but I did it with so much passion. The lowest points in my life have turned out to be some of the biggest life lessons later on down the line. I was so hungry to provide value to the rest of the world that I lost value of myself but I knew eventually my consistency would lead me to the opportunities that most people just dream about:. I learned very early that if you can drive your focus and attention into something you love, you’re liable to find a Diamond in your life..

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Last year was the most bizarre blessing of my life as I moved to LA at the beginning of the pandemic. Craziest part is that I lived with one of my clients, YG, for the beginning of my move to LA. Because the city was on lockdown I wasn’t able to travel or explore the city much but anyone that knows me can tell you that I’m always looking for a new adventure so feel free to reach out to me on IG @ChefDillo & put me on some dope new spots!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a major shoutout to the ones who have always shown me loyalty and stuck by my side in some of the darkest times in life. There are too many to name but very few who loved me for who I wanted to become. I Love YALL.
