Meet Dingding Hu | Dingding Hu | Founder of NOMOREHURT Foundation

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dingding Hu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dingding, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of the NOMOREHURT Foundation is the sense of connection and safety we’ve built, where people feel comfortable sharing their vulnerability. Our mission is to help individuals heal from trauma through art and rediscover themselves in the process. In our community, every voice is heard, respected, and valued. This authentic, supportive environment encourages people to open up, express their pain, and find healing through creative outlets. The foundation thrives because it’s a space where no one has to suffer in silence — they can transform their pain into something beautiful and empowering.
For the artists, their voices are sent out to help others, and people receiving this message can reconnect with themselves and begin to rebuild. Beyond that, collaboration has been essential. We’ve partnered with artists, mental health advocates, and organizations that share our vision of healing through creativity. Each collaboration brings a new layer of depth to what we do, whether it’s through art, events, or storytelling.
Ultimately, it’s about staying true to our purpose — breaking the silence around trauma and providing creative outlets for healing. The foundation’s growth stems from that core commitment, and it continues to drive everything we do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At NOMOREHURT Foundation, we focus on healing trauma through art and storytelling. What sets us apart is our deep-rooted belief in vulnerability and the power of creative expression. We create a space where people can share their stories, no matter how painful or difficult, and transform those experiences into something meaningful through art. We’re not just about surface-level healing—we dive into the depths of what it means to process trauma and come out the other side with strength, resilience, and a new sense of self.
In today’s world, people often forget how to truly connect. With so much focus on technology and individualism, the art of meaningful social interaction gets lost. At NOMOREHURT, we’re proud to create spaces where people can reconnect—with themselves, with their emotions, and with others. Our work brings people together through shared experiences and gives them a platform to connect on a deeper level. It’s this sense of community and human connection that I’m most excited about.
How Did You Get to Where You Are Today?
My background as a theater director has profoundly shaped my understanding of storytelling and its impact. The stage is a unique space where narratives come alive, and I’ve always believed in the transformative power of sharing stories. In the film industry, where I’ve cultivated my passion for storytelling, I worked as a producer, and through that experience, I learned the power of teamwork. Being part of a production means bringing different talents together to create something bigger than any one person could achieve alone. That sense of collaboration and leadership is what has built my strong ability to lead NOMOREHURT and guide it towards success.
Storytelling is incredibly powerful, and I’ve always wanted to use it to make an impact. NOMOREHURT is, at its core, a storytelling platform. Through the stories of trauma and healing, we can create change, inspire others, and build a sense of community. This has been my goal both in film and with NOMOREHURT.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. The journey was filled with challenges—both personal and professional. I had to confront my own trauma and heal before I could help others. There were moments when I felt lost, unsure if I was on the right path. But I kept pushing forward because I knew that the work we’re doing at NOMOREHURT is bigger than me.
Lessons Learned:
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that self-love is not easy. It’s not just about treating yourself to a spa day, eating ice cream, or taking a break—it’s about truly meeting your pain and facing the parts of yourself that are hard to confront. It requires deep introspection, and it often means going through discomfort to heal. But that’s where real growth happens.
I’ve also learned that vulnerability is not weakness—it’s strength. It takes incredible courage to acknowledge your pain and share it with others, but in doing so, you open the door to healing. When you’re vulnerable, you allow others to connect with you on a deeper level, and that connection can be transformative.
I’ve also come to understand the power of community. You don’t have to do it all alone. When we come together—whether through shared experiences, support, or collaboration—we create something far greater than we could ever achieve individually. Together, we can heal and thrive.
What I Want the World to Know:
Every story within NOMOREHURT is one of resilience. It’s about never giving up, even when things feel impossible. I want people to know that they are not alone in their struggles, and that healing is possible, no matter how deep the wounds. At NOMOREHURT, we are here to help people find their voice, their strength, and their way back to themselves. Every day, we wake up and tell ourselves, “Say no more to hurt, say yes to healing,” and we tell the world, NOMOREHURT!
Our mission is to create a space where pain is transformed into purpose, where trauma can be healed through creativity and connection. We are not just surviving—we are thriving, and we want to help others do the same.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d set up an unforgettable itinerary filled with fun, exploration, and quality time. We’d start with a tasty brunch at a local spot, then dive into some hidden gems around the area. After soaking in the views at a famous observatory, we’d grab dinner at a lively restaurant to get into the city’s vibe.
Next, we’d soak up some culture by checking out an artsy museum and wandering through vibrant neighborhoods bursting with street art. In the evening, we’d catch a live performance at a cozy venue, soaking in all that creative energy. If there’s a local festival or event happening, we’d definitely check that out for a taste of the community spirit.
A beach day is a must! We’d enjoy some sun and relax while watching the sunset. We’d also set aside a day for a nature escape, taking a trip to a nearby national park for hiking and stunning scenery. Packing a picnic would be perfect for some chill time outdoors before heading back for a laid-back dinner at a trendy spot.
And we definitely can’t miss visiting a local market! We’d keep the adventure going by discovering more hidden gems and local hangouts. Quality time is super important, so we’d have cozy moments to relax, share our experiences, and enjoy every bit of life together. This week would be all about having a blast and making memories that truly matter!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe so much of where I am today to my experiences—both the good and the bad. Growing up, my mom would always say: “Be grateful to those who have hurt you, for they have strengthened your resolve. Be grateful to those who have deceived you, for they have broadened your perspective. Be grateful to those who have beaten you, for they have helped you clear your karmic debts. Be grateful to those who abandoned you, for they have taught you independence. Be grateful to those who tripped you, for they have strengthened your abilities. Be grateful to those who have criticized you, for they have helped you grow in wisdom and mindfulness. Be grateful to all those who have helped you achieve your goals.”
This perspective shaped how I approach life. If I always kept my focus on the negative side of things, I would never be happy. It’s easy to hold onto anger or resentment, but that only weighs you down. Learning to appreciate the lessons in tough situations has allowed me to move forward, find peace, and transform pain into something meaningful. Holding onto negativity would have kept me from living fully. Instead, I choose to grow from it, which is what NOMOREHURT is all about—turning pain into empowerment.
I’m also incredibly grateful for the people who inspire me. It’s those who show courage in the face of adversity, who embrace vulnerability, and who use their own experiences to help others that truly move me. Whether it’s an artist who shares their soul through their work, or someone who finds the strength to tell their story, these people remind me that healing is a journey we don’t walk alone. They inspire me to keep pushing forward, knowing that every challenge can be turned into something that helps others heal.
Ultimately, everyone we meet, every experience we have, teaches us something valuable. Whether from the pain we endure or the support we receive, each encounter contributes to our growth and shapes who we become.
