We had the good fortune of connecting with DJ Dangerfield and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DJ, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Well my craft is music and being from L.A there is no shortage of artist chasing their dream. There really is never any reason to give up because I always think back to the famous art depiction of the 2 men mining diamonds and one gives up when he literally about to strike it big. I know in my industry it’s hard to have patience and it seems that sometimes your time will never come but if you’re doing it for the love of music and it’s truly a passion you’ll never quit you’ll just learn from your failure and try a new course of action but giving up is a definite no no. In my opinion if you give up on your passion you’ll be giving up for the rest of your life on anything you attempt to do so best to stay the course and see it through.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Hi, I’m Dane I’m an R&B singer and I started when I was 8 singing in the choir. I always knew as a kid that my passion was music through out my life I’ve face many challenges and quit music numerous times but always somehow found my way back to a mic and a studio. It has not been an easy road I’ve been in groups that didn’t work out sunk lots of finances into failed visions, even lost confidence in my ability to make good music. The only thing that kept me going my burning desire to success in music and to prove to myself I wasn’t wrong. I worked a regular job 9-5 at FedEx for a few years but just wasn’t built for that life so I decided to emerge myself fully into the music and now on this day that I’m writing this I’m further along than I have ever been building my personal brand. By no means am I satisfied or where I want to be got a ways to go but I can say that I am more motivated than ever to push ahead pulling out all the stops. One day I will be a household name but for now I’ll just continue to work hard on my road to success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well if I had a friend first off health is wealth so we would definitely hit some hike is Westlake Village or hollywood, Runyon canyon comes to mind. Then maybe hit Santa Monica for some italian eats like Forma or King & Queen. My favorite bar to go to is in the San Fernando valley called Joey’s in Woodland Hills defintely would hit that up a few nights the. Just have a chill friends bbq in my Backyard. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank my team of two with me we complete the triangle-O. Their name are Slim Duckey & Lasier Owens they have been instrumental in my growth as an artist Slim helping develop my unique sound and Laser taking the reigns of manager to put me in front of the right crowd and brandish new ideas that are outside the norm.
