We had the good fortune of connecting with Domina Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Domina, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have worked for such a long time in positions before starting my own company where I was constantly thinking critically and while I love thinking critically, it wasn’t enough for me to feel fulfilled. I wanted to find something that would allow me the freedom to express myself fully (whatever that meant at the time) in both critical thinking and artistic expression.

I had to do a lot of soul searching to figure out how I wanted to be known in my artistic endeavors, that it naturally progressed into brand building, brand strategy, creative directing and brand embodiment consulting. These were all things that I would have loved to do within a corporate company and help them build their business, but life has other plans, so logically the next step was to pursue it on my own.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is QUITE different than others in my industry because firstly, there is no face to the brand. While I do run it, my brand is about every woman that is part of my community. They are the face of the brand as we work together to help them find their power. Through my business, I am helping bring rebellious women who want change in the world to step into their calling and be radically unapologetic in their endeavors.

I am most excited for the magic that the women I am working with are bringing to the world and being able to be a part of the creative process to breathe life into their dreams.

As far as where I am in business to date, it by no means was easy. Building a business is not for the faint of heart. It is physically, mentally and spiritually demanding, and you are always being asked to level up if you want your business to grow. In order to overcome those challenges, a few things had to happen:

First, you have to have a high-level of self-awareness. Without that, you won’t see any issues that may arise. Secondly, you have to have a high-level of accountability. What that means to me is having a strict set of core values that you are always checking in with yourself to make sure you are being true to those values, and if not, accepting your faults or shortcomings and work on them and lastly is having a support system that reminds me of their faith in me which helps to see the beyond your limited vision, as sometimes when you are in the building out of your business and even after launching and scaling, it seems so grandiose what you’re working to achieve, yet having that reminder that you have what it takes, can sometimes be detrimental, in my opinion to your growth.

There have been several lessons that I have learned about life, success, wealth and self on my pursuits and what I have learned is that running and building a business is a VERY holistic process. I can’t list ALL of t hem, because there are SO many, but I here are a few of the ones that have held the most impact: Learning about having faith, even when all the odds seem against you while keeping the belief that it WILL happen. Learning how to manipulate my reality using universal laws… I know a lot of this may seem very woo woo and I thought that also at first…until it was proven to me by my own hand.

The thing about my brand is that through the work that I do I am building women-led brands who are being built by sovereign women. We are changing the narrative of division in our society and are bringing back community, unity, respect and most of all…sovereignty back into our culture. One. Life. At. A. Time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are SO many places we can go…but here is what I would plan..

First, I would take us on a hike to Eaton Canyon in Arcadia, first thing in the early morning to catch the sunrise after reaching the waterfall at the end of the hike, we would eat at Wild Oak Cafe in Glendale to eat a healthy breakfast and get lost in the beauty of nature that surrounds the cafe. Mid-day, we would be admiring the incredible art at the Norton-Simon Museum in Pasadena. For dinner, we would indulge ourselves in the delectable delights from one of my favorite sushi restaurants, Kaviar.

I would take us to San Diego and eat our way through the city. Our first stop would be going early in the morning to La Jolla and going kayaking through the La Jolla caves and seeing the sealions. Spend time with nature then for lunch, we would eat some incredible pasta and white wine at Vinarius in Little Italy. Then enjoy ourselves to a delicious and incredibly designed dessert at Extraordinary Desserts or drive over to Pacific Beach and have the BEST “adult”, alcohol infused cupcakes I have ever had!

On the way back we would stop by Laguna Beach to check out the Victoria Pirate Tower and get our feet wet at the beach on the hike to the tower, until we reach the tower and see a glimpse of history, and if time permits, we would go to the sawdust art festival to see some incredible local artists’ work.

We would go to The Cellar in Pasadena and play some chess in an underground wine library while snacking on a beautifully assorted charcuterie board while sipping some wine. We would eat at Sugar Fish, enjoying some incredible sushi (as you can tell I like sushi!) that will tickle your tastebuds and finish the day off by having some amazingly well-made drinks at Maestro’s.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my story to all my clients who chose to work with me, my business partner for always believing in me and my husband, for always being my anchor to see me through the hard times and celebrate the amazing times in life and in business. Thank you everyone for being part of this voyage with me.
