We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Bullus M. Gago and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Bullus M., we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
If there were one thing I would want people to realize about the “Church” as constructed, it is a far cry from its original functionality. The concept of “Church” has been reduced to highlight its loudest features, preaching, tithing, and judging. The original purpose of a church was to create a hangout by which people came together to receive an alternative vision of the future. People were empowered at the gathering not to see themselves as victims but as agents of change. Jesus meant more than an excuse to be self-centered. The Christian Faith was practical, not built on the illusion that one could abdicate their responsibilities while waiting on divine support to stem their enemies away as they became wealthy.

Fggm Valley seeks to restore the glamour of “Church”. We strive to present Jesus as scripture describes while providing practical guidance by which individuals may apply their knowledge of who Jesus is. Also, there is an attempt to empower individuals to realize their gifting and avenues by which they could live for a purpose beyond themselves.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Statistics show a critical decline in Church attendance amongst young people. When asked, they claim a disconnect in the leadership’s understanding of the times. In addition, there is a distrust, where young people feel more judged and used than uplifted and empowered. I am incredibly proud that Fggm Valley has taken this accusation seriously.

Although every Church is part of a bigger family, and not one Church is better than another, I believe what makes Fggm Valley a unique part of the family is that we do all we can to ensure the new and upcoming generations feel understood and needed. How we construct messages, seminars, workshops, and events considers those who are typically alienated and forgotten.

The challenge of being a pastor in this generation is the constant need to be current with thought processes. A pastor is either made or broken at the intersection of evaluating these thought and scriptural processes. To neglect the thought process of the times is to speak out of context, but to embrace it all, is to run into a theological error. It is then a battle to stay relevant in a generational context while remaining accurate biblically.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Los Angeles is a basket of excitement. It contains a massive sports pedigree. While in Los Angeles, visiting Crypto.com to see the Lakers play is a must. Next, we would see the Rams play to see their beautiful stadium. Afterwards, we would visit its theme parks, Six Flags, and then Disney land.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would want to recognize my father and mentor. My father has been there to guide me, teach me and develop me into the person I have become. My mother for her endless prayer and concern. To my wife, she has been patient and encouraging through thick and thin. Lastly, to God Himself for choosing me.
