We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Dotteanna Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Dotteanna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a former school psychologist, I provided over 13 years of therapy to children and families. During that time, I noticed that although traditional therapeutic practices were effective, my clients struggled to find their own identity and sense of purpose. Some people have trauma that consumes them and makes it difficult to become more than their human story. As I embarked on my own spiritual journey, I realized that people want to evolve and raise their vibration, but don’t always know how. I struggled with my own personal trauma and letting go of the old limited beliefs that stopped me from seeing beyond the reality I created. When I started my spiritual journey, I was buying so many tools and physical objects, but not doing the work to heal before stepping into more advanced spiritual practices. I was confused on why I wasn’t manifesting or seeing my abundance in physical form. Going through my own spiritual healing process guided me towards healing, manifesting and knowing my purpose. I developed PsyChakra Therapy and Healing Cards to help others heal their mind, body and soul utilizing traditional psychology practices, science and spirituality. PsyChakra Therapy provides one-on-one support in identifying core issues that need healing. PsyChakra Healing Cards are perfect for individuals who want to heal through meditation, but need guidance in doing so. PsyChakra promotes foundational practices and self-healing.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business, Dr. Empath was developed to provide intuitive guidance, energetic healing, and mentoring for all individuals wanting to heal in order to evolve spiritually, identify their purpose and manifest for the highest good of all. Dr. Empath is the only business currently providing therapy and healing cards utilizing traditional therapeutic practices, science, color therapy and spiritual practices. I started my business only providing readings to individuals. As I continued my spiritual journey and learning from some of the best spiritual mentors in the world, I realized that there is a gap in utilizing eastern and western practices, which both have benefits in mental health. It also helps individuals who may be leery of eastern practices feel more comfortable while being educated during their sessions. I had a lot of practice being that my mother who is a clinical psychologist had difficulty understanding my approach. I have great success stories from many clients and recently have PsyChakra Healing Cards in 4 different countries. As I continue to develop my business and offer a PsyChakra course and book, which will be available late spring, my goal is to have PsyChakra be the first step people utilize to heal and elevate before embarking on other spiritual practices.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in the San Diego area, but in an area where the beautiful mountains take over the landscape. When my best friend visits next year, I plan to take her hiking. Being that she is a city girl and has lived in NYC and Atlanta, I know she will appreciate the amazing views of the mountains like I did when I first moved to the area. I love nature and grounding myself, which helps me stay connected to Mother Earth. We would go to the beach and connect with the water as well. My goal for the week would be to connect with earth, water, wind and fire. Having a bond fire and writing our manifestation goals, speaking them aloud and burning the list in the fire. The wind would be around everywhere we went and we would take notice of when it would blow differently. At times we can get caught into the cycle of work and adult responsibilities, which can prevent us from seeing the synchronicities of moments in our life. Taking time to pause, be still and observe is necessary for you mental health and spiritual growth.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout my mentor, Oliver Niño known as The Spiritual Activator who has guided me through my spiritual journey and creating my business. Additionally, I would like to shoutout Tiannah Birdsong from Page11ven and MyLin Stokes Kennedy from Stokes Kennedy Art who created the artwork for the PsyChakra Healing Cards.
