We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Jennifer Charles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Jennifer, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
The training and therapy offered at Building Block Resolutions have a significant impact on the world and the community. This impact is rooted in the application of the science of human behavior, ensuring that the approaches used are evidence-based and effective.

One key aspect of Building Block Resolutions is its comprehensive training program. Employees are initially hired at the entry level and provided with training in essential skills. This program aims to equip therapists with the necessary expertise to become Registered Behavior Therapists (RBTs). Through mentorship and ongoing preparation, employees are guided towards becoming competent supervisors in the field. This progression allows them to take on more advanced responsibilities, such as writing programs and providing assistance to both children and adults.

The trainings and therapy sessions at Building Block Resolutions are specifically designed to teach individuals socially significant skills. These skills encompass various aspects, including self-help skills, career development, communication skills, and much more. By focusing on these areas, Building Block Resolutions aims to empower individuals to lead fulfilling and independent lives.

Overall, the combination of evidence-based practices, the comprehensive training program, and the focus on teaching valuable skills contribute to the positive impact that Building Block Resolutions has on the world and the community.

Our journey to where we are today hasn’t been easy, but we had incredible support from our dedicated office staff and passionate supervisors. They have played a crucial role in our success. We have constantly analyzed ourselves, asking how we can improve and be better at what we do. This continuous self-reflection has been instrumental in our growth.

One aspect that makes me particularly proud is that we have been able to introduce numerous individuals to the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. It’s gratifying to see more people joining us in this important work and making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Challenges are inevitable in any business, and we have faced our fair share of them. However, we have learned the importance of recognizing and anticipating these challenges. By doing so, we can be better prepared to overcome them and find effective solutions.

Along the way, I have learned not to sweat the small stuff. Our work is incredibly meaningful, and in the grand scheme of things, minor setbacks should not overshadow the importance of what we do. It’s crucial to keep our focus on the bigger picture and the positive impact we can have on people’s lives.
