We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Jessica Sharratt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Jessica, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for HEAL LA was born out of both personal experience and professional observation. I started with a small private practice—just two rooms in the back of a Pilates studio—where I worked one-on-one with clients who were seeking more than just a quick fix. They wanted comprehensive, lasting wellness. Over time, it became clear that true healing required more than any one modality or one solo practitioner could offer. It required a holistic approach—integrating mind, body, and spirit—and a supportive community to sustain it. I also saw a growing need to blend traditional healing practices with the latest innovations in wellness and technology, as well as a hunger for connection and community. That’s when the vision expanded. What began as a single room evolved into a collaborative wellness collective with 25+ practitioners, a group space for classes and events, and an advanced biohacking studio. At its core, HEAL LA remains driven by the same simple desire that started it all: to help people live better and heal more deeply—together.

What should our readers know about your business?
I think what we’re most proud of and what also sets us apart, is our dedication to providing extraordinarily client-centric care curated for each individual for where they’re at in their wellness journey. We don’t just offer biohacking or classes or sessions with practitioners… we offer a truly holistic experience driven by collaboration and community. Ironically, maintaining that as we’ve grown, has been one of the biggest challenges. But we’re super proud that we’ve stayed authentic to what initially inspired us as we’ve expanded. What’s the saying? Nothing truly worth it is easy. That’s true. It’s been true for Heal LA and we know it’s true for all of our beloved clients. They do the hard work of striving for a more healthful and fulfilling life. We get it, on a cellular level, and i think that makes us well-suited to walk this path with them.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A perfect day in the South Bay for me looks like breakfast and coffee at the Source in Hermosa Beach. I’ve been going there since the very first day they opened. Chef Amber is such a gift to our community and to living well. Try their bone broth, coconut chai latte, avocado toast on sweet potato slices, and the paleo bread (it’s a Source original!). Next, walk the Strand in Hermosa and Manhattan Beach to burn off breakfast and take in some fresh air. I will often take my pup for a hike up in Palos Verdes…. He loves the outdoors just as much as I do, which is one of the best things about living here. Dinner at Sausal in El Segundo is always a favorite. The dog-friendly patio is one of our favorite spots to enjoy one of their incredible cocktails and their amazing dishes. You can’t go wrong with anything at Sausal, but I usually find myself debating between arroz con pollo and the branzino. And we are known to round out an evening at OB’s in Manhattan Beach. It’s one of the few institution spots still around and you will NOT find a better staff or better people watching. Bonus: they have trivia and karaoke nights. I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t necessarily know about what’s new or “trending”… but i DEFINITELY know what’s truly worth a trip.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
While I may have birthed the initial vision for HEAL LA, its success is truly a collective achievement. Our incredible team of dedicated practitioners brings expertise and heart to their work every single day. They are the reason our community continues to grow and thrive. And then there are our incredibly loyal clients, who trust us with their wellness journeys and inspire us with their commitment to living better. Their belief in what we do fuels everything we create. I have clients who have been with me since I was still an intern and others who have moved with me from location to location, travelling across Los Angeles to see me! I’m humbled every single day by the level of this commitment to our studio, and to their well-being. And ultimately none of this would be possible without the support of my friends and loved ones. Through every challenge and every milestone, they’ve stood by me and reminded me why this work matters. Let’s just say, they have wiped many tears, pitched in at many events, lent many ears, and really shook the pom poms for me, so to speak. HEAL LA is the result of many hands, open hearts, and a shared desire to help people heal—and for that, I’m deeply grateful
