We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Jill Elam and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Jill, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want people to remember that ” I wasn’t afraid to go after my dreams”. I want people to know it’s never too late to achieve their goals and dreams. Hard work, faith and focus will pay off in the end. I want people to remember, I was fearless and relentless. Not to say I didn’t experience fear at times; but, when I felt fearful, I did it anyway. I pushed past the fear, and did it afraid. A prime example would be me going back to school to get my Doctoral degree at the age of 54. I had always wanted to go to USC, I applied several times only to be denied. However, I didn’t let that stop me, I kept applying until I finally got that yes!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The name of my business is Pretty Face Snatched Waist. I started the company in 2018, selling weight loss products. At that time, I didn’t really know what I was doing, not to mention I was selling a product I didn’t necessarily believe in; needless to say, the business did not flourish. In 2020 I re-branded my business to include body sculpting and training. My primary business goal is to train and certify women in body sculpting and assist them as they become entrepreneurs. What sets me apart from others would be my skill set, experience and wisdom. Currently, the field of body sculpting is not regulated by the State Board of California, however I am a licensed cosmetologist, whereas most trainers are not. I also have a degree in organizational leadership which helps them as they are becoming business owners through my mentorship. I’m most proud that I have been able to train women and help them create financial freedom. I would like your readers to know that I have a passion for helping women become successful business owners through my body sculpting training and mentorship course. I offer training and certification in body sculpting as well as products related to the field. In addition, I am expanding my services to include personalized facial packages as well as a skincare line.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend coming into town I would take them to Disneyland, Venice Beach, The Crenshaw District/Leimert Park, a tour of the USC campus and Hollywood.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To be honest my entire family, they have supported me in countless ways my entire life. Big shoutout to my husband who supports me and encourages me to always follow my dreams.
