We had the good fortune of connecting with Vivian Wells and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vivian, what do you want your legacy to be?
Legacy is disciplines practiced daily that culminate into the finished puzzle of my life. I would like for mine to be of excellent character and kindness. I hope that I will be remembered as a woman whose word is honorable and trustworthy. Rather than saying “yes” to everything, I want my “yes” to have power. I want my “no” to have purpose so that people always know where they stand with me.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The story of my successes start and end with relentlessly never giving up. I didn’t book that job… Wow! There must be an awesome different one out there for me! The season slows down in the winter… Great time to go to bartending school! It’s not easy, but it’s such a fun journey. If I can trust that certain stories are ordained for me to tell, while others are not, then disappointment can’t claim me! If I don’t book today’s job, I just KNOW that something better is just down the road.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love being active so my first suggestion is the hike up the the Hollywood sign. Once we’ve worked up an appetite, I take them to feast at one of the best places in Hollywood. Warning to all vegans: Pinks Hot dog’s are absolutely delectable! As far as coffee goes, Alfred’s in West Hollywood is another big must! We would go to Sqirl for our brunch day, and then off to Laguna Beach for some sun and shopping. Since I’m a Bartender, I like to make the drinks myself at home 😉 but I would head to the Americana next for Sushi.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents deserve most the credit for my life! They have never ceased to support me, whether they felt it was the best path or not. They love God, love me, and have taught me to be the woman I am today! Gordon and Ellen Wells are the REAL heroes.
