We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Shreyaa Sumi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Shreyaa, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
I am an avid reader. I read motivational books. Recent one is, Think Like a Monk by Jay Shetty.  I am also part of his virtual coaching community called Genius which has people from all over the globe. Its inspiring to see the impact he has created through sharing wisdom. One of my dreams is to meet him someday.  This is the best self-guide book one can own, written beautifully with practical methods on how to have a monk-like mindset just by being you. The book takes the reader on a journey of self-exploration to find more meaning, passion and joy in life with deeper intentions. I recommend it to anyone who feels uncertain and wants to regain themselves. This book will give you a new perspective towards life that is more aligned with your purpose along with the significance of Gratitude.

What do you want the world to know about you? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community? 
First ever Los Angeles resident to hold the Title Mrs.Universe Asia USA 2022 , to represent at Mrs.Universe 2022 by Bulgarian based organization.

My name is Dr. Shreyaa Sumi. I am an International Model, Influencer & Beauty Pageant Title holder.  I studied MBA in International Business and I am also a globally certified Happy coach from Berkeley, California. Apart from beauty pageants and fashion shows,I have been featured on various magazines’ covers, Brand shoots, E-commerce and print shoots. I am born and brought up in India and later moved to L.A. with my spouse. After settling down here, I wanted to pursue the same artistic career but it was challenging initially to explore the fashion & beauty industry in the USA. With experience and time, I believe I got into the groove now. It wasn’t an easy decision to make but doing what makes you happy just drives me till today.  I have collaborated with 50 plus beauty and fashion brands on instagram. I like making branded content videos through with I also get the chance to impact by sharing it with the community.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Los Angeles is one of my favorite places. It’s a dream come true to be calling it a home. Love the fact that the city is more diverse than one can imagine. LA is so full of iconic sights from Hollywood sign to the sunny beaches of Santa Monica to the glitz of Beverly Hills, Griffith observatory , Universal Studios , Dolby Theatre , Disney and much more to visit. When it comes down to food, California is known for its passion for health and fitness and vegan food consumption falls right in with these goals. LA named third most vegan-friendly city in the US. Italian food is one of the cuisines I enjoy so I would take them to Pura Vita to try Italian-Vegan! Walking down the Fashion District street of LA, Hollywood walk of Fame and Newport Beach Cruise is a must in my itinerary.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my family for their constant support throughout all that I choose to do. My mom and my daughter are my biggest inspirations who instills positivity in me. What more can I ask for, It is my spouse Vijai, a Techie and a digital entertainment biz startup founder who beleieved in me that I could make it in this career even when I dint think of it all.
