We had the good fortune of connecting with Easton Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Easton, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I truly believe you have the choice to turn your passion into a career. Growing up, I always knew I’d be in the industry of product development, design, and surf. As a child, I was constantly drawing up logos and imagining brand names. It’s easy to wake up and get work taken care of when you love it. The money is just a bonus!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I come from a very creative and entrepreneurial family. I pretty much have a family member who’s started a business in every industry. I always knew I would be an entrepreneur because of this. I’ve always seen art in every walk of life. I love helping my clients find their vision through my work.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Start the day by going to the best bakery, Le Pain Du Jour. They have freshly baked bread, layered croissants, and coffee.
Rain or shine, for lunch or dinner, you have to go to La Playita. It’s bomb Mexican food with an ocean view in Hermosa Beach. Their chips and salsa speak volumes.
I grew up surfing, so you have to get some beach time.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents are my biggest inspiration. My dad, Rob Jones, of Jones Landscapes, worked his tail off working two jobs and starting a landscape business. Now his hard work, character, and determination have proven fruitful in his family life and business. He’d always say to me, make sure to leave work and all of the world’s problems before you step into your home. He’d come home in the evening after a long day’s work with a huge smile, ready to spend time with our family.
My mom stayed home to home school us and raise us in the right direction. She gave her everything so that we could have a flexible and creative-filled upbringing.
