We had the good fortune of connecting with Eden Sustin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eden, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Starting your own business can be scary for some people. For me, I had some fear, but not of starting my own business. That part came easy for me. My fear was more about “coming out” as a Medium to all of my peers, friends and family. It meant I had to stop hiding my abilities and show up as my true self. I’ve had this gift since I was a kid but I never thought I’d reveal that side of me and use it to help others. It was easier to keep it a secret than risk judgment and criticism from the opinions of others. Being a mother was truly my priority but I had to contribute to the household income somehow. At the time, my focus was on making money. I took several odd jobs. None of which felt purposeful or aligned with my authentic self. Once I let go of the greed, scarcity aspect, and fear of what people would think of me, a new door miraculously opened. In such an unexpected way, I received my calling, literally and figuratively. I got a phone call from my sister who lives in another state. She had a new neighbor who’d recently lost her mother to suicide. She asked me if I’d do a reading for this women to help her through her painful loss. At first I laughed; The idea that I could actually help this women felt ridiculous to me. Eventually I gave in and tried it. Long story short, the messages I received were so profound and exactly what she needed. Little did i know it was exactly what I needed too! The experience was life-changing for both of us. When I saw how much I helped her I knew I had to take the leap and answer my calling. It made me feel extremely vulnerable but I trusted that the risk was going to be worth it. Ten years later, I am so happy I made that choice. Yes, i am earning good money but more than that, I am completely fulfilled with this work. Everyday I am reminded that I am meant to be doing this. I see healing take place with each person I get to work with and the calls keep coming in. Embracing risk taking has made me more confident and has also helped me overcome my fear of judgment and ridicule. I found my Passion, my Purpose and my Voice and I live unapologetically!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In my work I am able to channel loved ones who have passed on for the purpose of healing. I channel in the form of Automatic Writing and receive mental messages as well. Where Spirits converse with me via thought. My spiritual senses are Clairvoyance, Claircognizance and Clairsentience and Clairaudience. I am certified in Parenting, Communications, Life Skills and Regression Therapy. I utilize all of my skills in each session I do with my clients. Which makes for a profound healing experience. I am also a Co-Author of a book channeled by Spirit to be released next year and a Co-Host of the podcast Talk Purpose and Truth. On the podcast, we interview experts and celebrities on the topic of mental and spiritual health to help our audience raise their consciousness, grow and become more aligned with their own purpose and truth. Kim and I are also partnered with the Imperfectly Perfect Campaign. A campaign created to help raise awareness and change the stigma of mental health and suicide. Through my own personal healing journey I was able to discover how valuable my abilities and knowledge are. I was then led to my life’s purpose and these amazing opportunities. Iv’e had to overcome many hurdles in my life but I now know there is purpose in my pain. It is a true gift to be able to use my pain to help others heal.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend visiting from out of town for a week I’d take them to many of the places my family and I like to go to. We enjoy seeing the locations where our favorite TV Shows have been filmed. Living in Southern California, there are many to see. We’d also take them to our favorite beach and spots in Malibu. We would eat at Coogie’s and then walk down to Malibu Yogurt for some froYo. We also love to shop! We might go to The Grove or stay local and go to the mall. I’’d introduce them to our best friends and probably do dinner at their house. Ellen is a much better cook than I am! We’d play Cards Against Humanity and just laugh until we couldn’t keep our eyes open anymore.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In recognition of my sister Niki for believing in me, my friend/podcast co-host Kim, for doing this journey with me and to my husband Eric and daughters Skylar and Taylor for your love and acceptance!
