Meet Elexus “Let E. Tell It” Hunter: Indie Filmmaker: Writer | Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Elexus “Let E. Tell It” Hunter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elexus “Let E. Tell It”, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is making my dreams come true. I believe we’re all created to fulfill our purpose for whatever it may be. You just have to discover it. Get in tuned with yourself. Once you find it, the hunger for making it come true is insanely addictive. It’s like, there’s no plan B or C. You got to take action. The success of my brand comes from my life’s journey and becoming my most authentic self. Being myself is the main factor for succeeding in this process called life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My name is Elexus – like the car. I’m a writer and producer, born and raised in San Francisco, CA. A sucker for a good comedy and gets the giggles anytime there’s anecdotal humor. Creator of Let E. Tell It Art and Entertainment media; a lifestyle brand where I outsource talent to produce creative projects – that addresses social issues within urban communities. I’ve always been tickled by art, music and dance since a little girl. I used to hear people say, “this kid got talent”. Of course, life runs its course and you become distracted by your reality. Going to college my intentions were set on Mass Media and yet I was persuaded to take on a major that would be less frowned upon. No, I don’t regret getting my degree in Business. It’s haven’t gone to waste but I could imagine this journey now would’ve been a little different. Then again, you’re alway right where you’re supposed to be. It’s not easy because, you’re constantly having to be your own inspiration, power force to keep your mind away from all doubts and fears. I’ve continue to overcome this situation by positive affirmations and meditation. I’ve learned that – you have to fall in love with yourself first – in order to discover who you really are and from there you’ll attract all the beautiful things that are magnetic to your vibration. When you hear Let E. Tell It. It sends a bold statement. Hear it from me or no one at all. Everything about me is real, raw and out of love. I love what I do and it brings laughs, wisdom, perception and understanding to people who understand my narrative. It’s ME or nothing at all. I’ve had my fair share of being everyone else – it’s draining and a waste of my time!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Omg! LA is so angelic, right! Given a week to explore. We would sooo go to the beach. Hop on one of the Uber scooters and ride out. Grab some bread/nuts and feed the birds and the squirrels. Eat, eat and eat. Go to the hottest vegan spots – such as: Simply Wholesome, Doomies, Donut Friend, Grain Cafe, Stuff I Eat and many more. Most likely at night – we’ll head to Momma’s Rooftop/Kitchen and get some mimosas/drank and dance. The art district of course! Take the camera and roam the district (stunt for the gram). LA, is humongous! It’s new areas that I find out about every other week. Lol. Even when you think you’ve mastered it all – you haven’t. I mean from the urban side of LA to Valley – it’s LIT. It’s like different villages in one big space.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh wow! There’s so many souls that I could give credit to. I would say my God mom, Lady Estelle, for giving me the tools to believe in myself and to dream big. To my mentor, Damien, for never telling me no and that I can do whatever I put my mind to – just make smart decisions. To my foster community, who supports my efforts to help youth, urban communities and individuals battling with mental illness. The list is a extremely long but they know who they are. Being an artist isn’t easy – there’s no yellow brick road but there’s light within that keeps you going.
