We had the good fortune of connecting with Eli Bramnick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eli, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Something that I realized shortly after working in the music industry in LA is that I need to set myself up as best I can so that opportunities start coming to me. Everything I can do, sending cold emails/DMs to artists and music directors, reaching out for coffee meetings. All of those little things can lead to huge opportunities and it all starts with putting yourself out there and not worrying about the response you get from that.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a touring guitarist, producer, and music director. I’ve worked with Peter McPoland, Marc E Bassy, Haiden Henderson, Kyle Lux, and Zoe Ko, to name a few. I got my first tour opportunity when I was still in school at USC with an artist named Peter McPoland. Randomly got the gig through a friend sending me his manager’s instagram story saying he needed a guitarist. That was my first big gig that started to open myself up to the greater LA music scene and the touring world.

So much practicing and hard work both through school and on my own got me that opportunity. I’ve learned that opportunities will present themself when you are ready for them. I want people to know that I much prefer working alongside artists and helping their visions come to life through live performance and studio recordings, rather than focusing on an artist project of my own. I enjoy the collaborative process a lot more than working by myself.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The USC Thornton School of Music Popular Music Program. Specifically my professors Paul Jackson Jr. and Patrice Rushen.

I also owe a lot to the School of Rock program that I attended in my early years.
