We had the good fortune of connecting with Elissa Lawson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elissa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I launched my business right before the start of the Pandemic, which actually turned out to be great timing. I started juicing for myself and my immediate family. My mom suffers from Lupus and deals with inflammation in her body so I wanted to create different blends that could help target her symptoms. I started testing out different blends with the goal of creating product that was not only loaded with nutrients and health benefits, but also tasted delicious! I began sharing these creations on my personal social media pages. Of course, people became curious and began asking about the juices I was posting. It became clear very quickly that this could be the start of a successful business. Within one day, I developed my own logo and menu and officially launched the following day!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

As my Full-Time job, I am in Brand Management and Marketing at Campbell Soup Company. I spent most of my career in Sales so this transition into Marketing has been great and very aligned with what I so daily with juicEitup. My days are very long and working both my job and my business definitely takes hard work but it is very rewarding to do what I love.

I started a career in Sales and Account Management right out of college. I was promoted over the years and eventually moved into Sales Leadership roles. After about 10 years in Sales, I recently made the move over to the Marketing department. My degree is in Marketing and I really wanted to take the leap to challenge myself in a new way. Now I can use the skills I have built Marketing my own business during my Day job.

I am most proud of how I have navigated through my career while also growing a business. I am a one-woman show when it comes to juicEitup so it is very satisfying to know that I was able to create delicious products that people all over the country get to enjoy! My business is my passion project and it allows me an opportunity to connect with so many people while helping them along in their health journey. I receive some of the most amazing testimonials about how my products have helped others and that really does make me so proud.

I always say my products are made with love, and I truly believe my customers can tell that they are, that is what sets us apart!

Some of the biggest lessons I have learned along the way is to follow your passion! If you are doing what you love, everything will fall into place. Stay true to the integrity of your business and why you originally started it, even on those long days when you have to push yourself to keep going!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I live in NJ so if I had a friend visiting, I would arrange some day trips to enjoy major cities nearby (i.e. Manhattan, Philadelphia, etc)

I am a major foodie so I would take them to all my favorite spots, They would need to try a Jersey bagel, NY Pizza, a Philly cheesesteak, all the things these cities are known for food-wise.

I also love being near the water so we would need to have a beach day.

Lastly, a weekend brunch must be on the itinerary. We love a good brunch!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout my mother! She was a huge part of the inspiration behind the start of my business and she has rooted me on the entire way as I maneuver through entrepreneurship.
