We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Komet PT, DPT, CSCS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, what’s your definition for success?
Success isn’t a destination — it’s a mindset.

What I mean by that is: every time you reach a goal, it feels great — but only for a moment. There’s always a next goal ahead. To me, success is about being in a constant state of growth and finding satisfaction in improving a little bit every day.

I think this mentality is especially important when it comes to health. Health isn’t something you achieve once and then stop working on. Whether it’s getting great results on your blood work or hitting a new personal best in the gym, those moments matter — but if you don’t continue to show up and put in the work, you can lose those results.

That’s why I believe success lies in always striving to be better than the person you were yesterday. I try to live by that mindset and help instill it in the people I work with.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I created a concierge physical therapy and fitness company that delivers high-quality care directly to people’s homes in Los Angeles. I started this business after noticing two major gaps in the world of physical therapy and fitness.

First, there’s a missing link between injury recovery and feeling truly ready to return to sports or workouts. Many clinics discharge patients once their pain is gone—but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re fully prepared to perform at a high level again. I’ve dedicated years to training in both rehabilitation and conditioning to guide patients from day one of injury all the way to peak performance.

The second need I address is that of the busy, often overwhelmed LA resident juggling a packed schedule. My clients usually have just one hour a day to dedicate to themselves—and I meet them there, literally, by showing up at their door, on their terms.

Starting and growing my business happened organically—I genuinely love what I do, and connecting with patients has always come easily. It began with a few patients I met while teaching local Pilates classes. Over time, those few became many as my name spread through their networks. The biggest challenge hasn’t been the work itself, but setting boundaries around it. There were periods when I worked seven days a week, sometimes 14-hour days. Seeing patients is so addicting, it’s easy to lose track of balance. But I’ve learned the hard way that I can’t care for others unless I’m caring for myself first. Now, I’m more attuned to the early signs of burnout. When I start to feel drained or lose joy in my work, I know it’s time to rest and reset.

What I hope people take away from my story is that it’s possible to do work you love, live comfortably, and make a real difference in people’s well-being. When you’re passionate about your purpose, success flows more naturally—because it becomes easier to devote the time, energy, and care needed to keep growing.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
