We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Lip and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elizabeth, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I wouldn’t necessarily say that the word “risk” is my middle name (in a sense I do not particularly like being on the edge all the time) however I do have to admit that it is a part and a parcel of my life. When I took a leap of faith and moved all the way from Europe to the US right after getting my bachelors in Political Science, at first I thought I did a huge mistake. I remember one of my friends at that time said “You’re nuts and seriously should consider going to a psychiatrist or something”. Well, I went straight to Hollywood and that was the best therapy. I always suggest people take acting or singing classes regardless of their primary occupation. Cannot lie, my diploma in Film & Acting can be observed in every video I publish in my social media… Not an A+ game but still!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
If you asked me five years ago what my “art” was, I probably wouldn’t have had a neat answer. After the war in Ukraine started, it was hard to assemble my life back. Me and my partner were moving almost every single month in the search for our new place to call home. At some point I knew I need start not searching for this feeling but rather creating it. That is how I started my “A City Girl Living In…” series. I started romanticizing my own life by finding even the tiniest things that made me happy throughout the day. The little did I know that in just a year after I published the very first video with this caption, it would take on its own life and I would be selling caps with the A City Girl Living In Barcelona” embroidery.

Today I create content at the intersection of luxury travel, fashion, lifestyle, and emotional storytelling. But what I really do is world-building. I don’t like selling products. I like creating a feeling that makes you want to step inside a life. That’s the difference. A lot of content says, “Look what I have.” Mine says, “Come with me.”

My work is very visual. I care obsessively about light, composition, textures, color palettes. I want everything to feel cinematic, like a still from a film you wish existed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Barcelona has truly become my home. When friends come to town, I’m being lazy – I just send them my Google Maps lists. To give you an idea, the “BCN Matcha” features Niwa Cafeteria and Ikenocha. In “Barcelona *sushi emoji*” I have ARKO and Nomo. For coffee, my one and only – Noah’s (you can find me pretty much anytime there if I’m not at a shooting or an event). For dinners… it is complicated. Depends on the mood, on the cuisine, your budget for an Uber… But if I had to choose just one, I’ll go for Fismuler. I love this place and its Basque cheesecake. Trust me, you don’t have to go to San Sebastian, just pay a visit to Fismuler and ask for this dessert. See you in heaven!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My personal shoutout goes to each and every person who has ever held a camera for me (you know who you are). Without you guys, no content would have been made. Sending love to all my friends who not only believed in me but also helped me, with their hands! Literally…
