We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth S. Hoefer, D.C. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elizabeth S., what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking is exciting in many ways. In my life, I am not adverse to taking risks, but I do so knowing that I am taking a chance on me! I have never been satisfied with status quo and when opportunities present themselves I focus on what could go right rather than what could go wrong. I took a risk leaving Iowa in 2008 as a college intern with nothing more than student loan debt and zero promised income. I had a huge passion for the work I do and an unwavering belief that I had something people needed. 12 years later I own an incredible practice that has helped thousands of people stay well connected and live their lives in alignment.
Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
At Well Connected Chiropractic the thing I am most proud of is the culture we have created of collaboration. Within the team we work together seamlessly to compliment each other to best serve our patients. Our passion to serve our community is born from a deeply held belief that they have the ability to heal and live in alignment in every area of their lives. We partner with them to encourage them to live free from pain and suffering and thrive in what ever they choose to put their minds to. Creating a healthy culture is something we work at every single day and it has not been easy, but it has been so worth it. We constantly evaluate our processes and improve them when change is needed. We are not afraid of change and we pride ourselves on truly listening to what is being said and taking the necessary steps to accomplish the massive goals we have set.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to support local! I would take them to the beach to experience the insane sunsets and have a great dinner at Nick’s in Laguna Beach. We would go to the Montage and have wine and their famous chocolate biscotti and then we would do desert at Maestros for the butter cake. O’Neil Park has some great hiking and I would end the trip with a lovely spa day at Glen Ivy Hot Springs. I am all about great food and relaxation.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My father, Brandon Kelly deserves the biggest credit for finding me against all odds, truly demonstrating what unconditional love is and illuminating the fact that I have always had everything I needed to be successful. Additionally, my husband Michael, my daughters Lauren, Makayla and Claire, as well as my team at Well Connected Chiropractic, inspire me each and every day to show up and give the world what I have to offer at a level that champions determination, dedication and joyfulness.
