We had the good fortune of connecting with Elle Eminense and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elle, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Oh my gosh, I have whole book cases full of poems and quotes that I’m simply enamored by. As a wordsmith my self, I find poetry prayer and have a special place in my heart for the delicate and powerful way that words can sway us. I mean, our words are so impactful!

We can use quotes and words as affirmations and mantras to live by, repeating them until they stick to our bones like the flesh of our sinewy muscles, and for that, I am grateful.

My favorite poem is “The Invitation” by Oriah Mountain Dreamer. I won’t put the whole thing here so please google it if you’ve not yet found yourself in the presence of this delightful piece.

Some of my favorite lines from this poem are as such:

“I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it, or fade it, or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own; if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, be realistic, remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling me is true

I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself. If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty even when it is not pretty every day. And if you can source your own life from its presence.”

This whole poem is a deep invitation into, what I believe, it means to be alive. The pain that we embrace, the beauty we behold, the trustworthiness masked as betrayal.. I find it delicious.

As a recovering people please, I especially live by the idea that we will fail others, but as long as we are congruent to ourselves, our dreams, and our inner knowing – we have, in fact, done our mission on earth properly. Or in other words, “I understood the assignment.”

This I find beautiful. I find it enticing.. I find it true. For some paths are not easy to make sense of, and yet, in our ability to trust – we are gifted beauty beyond our wildest dreams.

Trust. Trust. Trust. Listen to what’s right for ourselves, and live by that design without the approval of some. A sweet sentiment indeed.

I also saw a question about risk and I was torn between sharing about that or using this quote, when they’re actually similar. So I’m going to speak on risk before you head on out.

Life.. is a risk. We are miracles made of particles that had such a small chance to even be here – so what is risk really? It’s life. You move towards what you love – sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t – but even if it doesn’t, you’ve learned something. I’d rather risk my time doing what I love, living in my truth – than risk a life of boredom. 😉

Miracles happen when you believe – and miracles, just like risk – are inherent in everything. So just go for it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Gosh, This was so hard to choose because I feel like such an artist and an entrepreneur and my intention is to continually weave these things together.

That’s the point. Your LIFE is your art. There’s no other way to live in my opinion, from how you wake up, to what you eat and how, to where you live and what you practice daily – it’s an art.. creating a masterpeace of what you desire to see all around you.

I found myself NEEDING to get away from home at a very early age, so I had no choice but to start a business. Bless my father, who had sent me to massage school where I was introduced to a myriad of alternative healing modalities, all of which, I needed for my own mental health before I could ever imagine giving them to other people. But we get to live for what’s served us and share about it – that’s what’s so special! I have a very unique story full of miracles and my full intent is to inspire others to live out their miracle dreams. Their miracle lives. Thier miracle YUM! and so I do.

Through living for what makes me happy – through my music, poetry, prayer, and coaching, I’m able to remind people who the F they are so that they can go CREATE themselves and their lives by their own design. Joyfully.

I’m most excited that I do feel integrated in my artistry and services. I get to live a juicy, intimate life (one that I did not know could exist because I didn’t have role models) and now I’m living the life of my dreams. That’s huge. That is scary. That is challenging. Even the challenge though is an illusion, cause once you break free from the fear, you realize you’re the only one holding you back and life meets YOU in the daring, bold act of saying YES, I’m ready.

My brand is all around bringing Sexy Back! Back to the Sacred! Back to relationships, back to existing.. I swear to the Holy Mother Father God, that life is DELICIOUS – so waking people up to their delicious nature is a pure treat, once that is both a state of rebellious activism and visionary vivaciousness. I think relationships, love, expression, SEX (yea, I said it) needs a face lift. We are in the presence of each other’s god/goodness/perfection.

Why aren’t we all running around in awe of the holy sanctity of this wild life journey? We need more of that. (also, not sayin it’s easy – that IS the work. to make it look easy. to make it easy! to let it be easy to live how one feels in their heart is meant to be lived, without caring what others think – cue OG Poem quote) haha.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Love this – actually just did all this with a friend.

Ok, so you arrive to LA and you’re excited cause the sun’s out and so is your bum.

You gotta hit up Light on Yoga on Venice blvd. cause it’s JOYFUL – PEACEFUL – the classes are lit. and good, actually. Perfect balance of physical and spiritual.

Then you ride your little yoga bum to the beach every. single. day. Cause it’s the Beach. That, in itself, is a day or two experience. Pay the guys money who jump over people, celebrate that little boy singing Michael Jackson music on the Venice Boardwalk – ride your bike to Malibu and back, stopping at the pier to ride the ferris wheel. BLOW BUBBLES. Watch dolphins.

Ok, now moving on..

You need a Malibu slumber party with your friends. Find a house, rent a house, gosh – sleep in your car on the PCH for all I care, get yo booty to the visual serenity of that mama Ocean! And I’m telling you, a nice night with the ladies in an opulent home is delish. Wear Silk. Take photos. Create memories.

Oh, and hike. Hello Los Liones trail.

Hit up Erewhon one or two times because you never know you’re going to see. And it’s so fun to make a $50 kale salad for that Malibu slumber party with yo girls, mentioned above.

Hmm, what now you might wonder?

The Getty in Malibu – might as well! You’re right THERE! It’s so pretty, dress up, grab a latte, be art for the day. Make friends, meditate in the gardens (the Getty is gorgeous in both locations, so do this twice or in one day). Get INSPIRED.

Ok so fun. So, now you should also check out Sweat Yoga in Santa Monica, it just got bought out by new owners but it’s still MY FAVE hot yoga. ever. So FUN! Get sweaty, go jump in the ocean.. Boom. Read a book. You’re a good person now and ever more.

If you can get on a yacht at sunset, please do. I highly recommend Boats and SUP at the Marina Bay Beach. It’s proper name is Mother’s Beach.

Finally, a little shopping on Abbot Kinney. Pizza. Gjelina’s. Principessa. Leave feeling renewed AND there’s so many fun people and experiences to watch. Check out Den Mother for a great spa experience.

I’m also quite the fan of hotels – so try to stay at the Proper for more community fun, or Oceana if you need some romantic 1-1 time.

Also, the rose gardens at the Pacific Palisades park in North Santa Monica is so sacred. Great views, beautiful long walks.. and a treat for the senses.

That’s that. I like simple and sexy so just enjoy all the west side like you’re in health and wellness movie. You’ll leave feeling refreshsed!

Oh, I could never forgot Rose Ave. The cafe’s are so cute!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Nature~ The polar opposite of my life: my parents. My FRIENDS, MY COMMUNITY> I’m truly blessed to always have wandered into the most sacred people and places with hearts blasted open as large as mine and that serves for some really good times.

So, I’m thankful for the people in my life who have inspired me. Some by living way differently than me, and some for showing me the way through inspiration.

And my grandma. Cause she saw my light before I did. May she continue to Rest in Peace.
