Meet Emi Subotovsky | Visual Artist and Attorney at Law

We had the good fortune of connecting with Emi Subotovsky and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emi, why did you pursue a creative career?
Since a young age I was always interested in art. However the complexities of life lead me to pursue a career in law Upon retirement I took up art as a ” hobby” and little by little it filled my life until it stopped being just a hobby and become a passion ”
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
AS I STATED BEFORE , since a young age I was interested in art My art teacher in high school in my native country, Argentina, told me once ” you will get far as an artist” However, I did not pursue it until, later in life, WHEN I retired from the practice of law
It started as a hobby until, during the pandemic”, I presented a piece for an art show, Not only it was accepted, but it got second place on the show It gave me confidence to continue painting and exploring
I started presenting my work to juried shows along younger and more established artists , and I learned that there are no limits to what one can achieve in any professional field
It is never too late to start new endeavors AND PURSUE YOUR PASSIONS The key is to never give up
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I reside in both Miami, Florida and Greenwich, CT so there are plenty of things to do and visit I would go to New York City to visit museums, art galleries and sightseeing I would eat in little cafes and bakeries downtown. In Connecticut I would visit the beautiful and quaint towns in New England along with art galleries. In Miami I would also explore the art scene, galleries in the Design District and eat in restaurants by the water with the amazing views of the Miami coast
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Paula Rivero Argentine artist, and art coach, with her mentorship and support , has pushed me to believe in my creative ability and always investigate and try new things with no fear of the result. Thanks to her I can say now I am an artist
