We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Sauer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erica, what do you attribute your success to?
The vibe of pleasure is the most important factor behind the success of my business and success in my life. I do not subscribe to the mentality that I have to sacrifice one for the other. I believe the more I live into the vibe of pleasure, the more I enjoy my life, the more fulfilled I am, the more I take care of my body, my heart and my head, the more my business will thrive. The more I will tune into my creative energy and create from a space of authenticity which will give me magnetic pull because I am living a life that is in alignment with who I really am, not a watered down version of myself because I am living the life of someone else.

Success is such a relative term though. Success to me is being able to work in a career I am passionate about, make money that gives me the ability to satisfy my desires with ease, travel often and work from anywhere in the world and be able to live a thriving life outside of work. I may not own the house of my dreams yet, however I can satisfy most of my desires with ease, I have amazing clients who I get to work with and watch grow and expand quickly in our intimate containers. I get to travel and work from anywhere in the world. I am currently in South Africa as I write this. And I have amazing relationships that are full of vulnerable love and intimacy and trust.

I genuinely feel that I can attribute that to my belief that I get to enjoy my life and thrive – since our beliefs create our reality 🙂

What should our readers know about your business?
I am an entrepreneur, empowerment coach, writer and speaker. I work with corporations, hotel groups and individuals all over the world. The emphasis of my programs are to unravel unconscious programming keeping people stuck in the same patterns and getting the same results, out of fear and into deeper awareness, alignment and expansion in all arenas of their lives.

I am most proud of the fact I started this business after an 11 year career in the entertainment industry and even though I was well established, I felt the pull to support others on their spiritual journeys and I made the transition.

It has been so rewarding to watch people grow quickly in these containers. I love working 1:1 and in groups with people and seeing them flourish in a short period of time. We all have it in us to get to the next-level of our lives, we just need some support sometimes seeing it. I am so happy to be able to be that support for people.

Most things in life have challenges, the best businesses have challenges, the best relationships, the best experiences. Life isn’t linear and the only way to experience life, is in the duality of all experiences. In my business the biggest challenge was getting started, the idea that people wanted to hear what I had to say and would actually sign up for my programs. I grew up with a limiting belief that I had to go to school for something. IU had to have the PHD or Masters in order to be taken seriously. AS we all know, Steve Jobs had no degree and Tony Robbins is the biggest life coach in the world and he barely graduated high school. SO that belief system isn’t true. It’s only true if we believe it. As I worked through that block with my worth and value it’s been amazing to spread that magnetism of worth and value to others. Being able to see my own worth has only been able to deepen my view of worth in others we can only connect with others as deeply as we have connected to ourselves.

There are other challenges of course and I just take them one day at a time with an inquisition to expand my power. I look at challenges like blessings because I know on the other side is a breakthrough 🙂

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I am currently living in Cape Town so I will do it for here.

Every morning I get up and go grab my coffee at an awesome little spot in Canps Bay, called Firefly – the people are so friendly and the coffee is nice and strong :). I like to work and write from here.

I head over to Clifton Beach to do some breathwork/ meditation and some headstands and stretching. Clifton Beach reminds me of Malibu, it is secluded and so beautiful with the big granite boulders in the water and white sand beaches.

For lunch I typically head to Nourish’d an awesome spot in the Gardens for smoothies and bowls. A young, hip healthy crowd. Seems like people are pretty conscious about what they’re putting in their bodies, and I like that since I am all about awareness 🙂

Some days I’ll work from the Bootleggers in Gardens or head for an awesome hike up Lion’s Head or Table Mountain. There are so many amazing trails here to be outdoors, get some vitamin D and see insanely beautiful views of Cape Town.

For dinner I love Kyoto Garden Sushi or to go to Hout Bay to grab fresh fish off the boat that day. I go see this guy names Wayne and he always give me a fresh piece of Kingclip.

On the weekends I like to head to Constantia, Stellenbosch, or Franschhoek. You can stroll the gardens, have a picnic at one of the wine farms and stroll around the towns. I am not a drinker, however if you love wine, it’s a beautiful place for that or to just go enjoy the scenic views.

This weekend I am making my way down the garden route. You can see the sardine run and all the whales and wild life on this route this time of year. I’ll stay a night in Hermanus and go to Addo see the elephants 🙂

In two weeks I am going to Kenya on a Safari and Rwanda to see the gorillas. I love Africa because of all the nature, wildlife and scenic beauty.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost my mother. She is my greatest teacher in this life. It doesn’t mean it has always been easy but our relationship is the catalyst for everything that I am today ( of course my other family members as well but my mother and myself definitely were meant to be great teachers for each other in this life).

Tony Robbins for practical approaches to mental health and empowerment that got the self-realization journey rolling in my life.

Osho for releasing me from identification with my mind and getting me into my body so I could let go of past pain and genuinely heal.

Johann Urb for instilling breathwork as a daily practice that has forever changed my life.
